What an ugly game...21-21 after 20 minutes of play. You can't criticize the effort though, both teams are giving it all they've got. I think OU will eventually pull away if they can better establish Villaroel, but the Huskers definately have chance.
Alexa Johnson has 8 points for NU, but also has three fouls. Margaret Richards and the volleyball players are doing well, but Jina J looks a little out-classed going against Jackson and Villaroel.
Connie Yori has Nebraska playing like animals, diving for every lose ball and totally disrupting the Sooners offense with their defensive tenascity. If this year's Husker team had anywhere near the offensive talent of last year's team, they would be awfully tough to beat. How nice would it be to have Keasha Cannon back in the line-up today?
Yori has already produced a team that Nebraska can be proud of, and a few years down the line the Huskers WILL be back at the top of the Big 12.
Ugly is right. Both teams were very tentative on offense, and the overall play bore some similarities to rugby. Lots of steals and turnovers for both teams. Whoever gets their offense going first will have a decided advantage in the second half.

WOW!!! NU is playing with some heart! Win or lose, this game could be a focal point for Coach Yori to use the rest of this season and into the next. It is weird watching OU though, don't recognize anyone! Villaroel should be given every opportunity to take this game over, otherwise NU will have a shot at the end.
Nebraska just shot poorly all game. The 14-0 run that OU went on in the second half to open the lead from 33-32 to 47-32 was pretty much the ballgame.
I think Nebraska fans should have much to be encouraged about, as their team played with great effort, but when you shoot under 25% for the game, it is awfully hard to win.

Almost painful to watch this one. BUT, it is a win and on the road. Those are priceless!
Good grief, shoot 36 percentage and win by 14?! UGLY is an understatement.
Good start Sooners. Welch is coming along very nicely now. Nice offensive showing by her today to go along with her usual great defensive effort.
I wonder sometimes where Shuknecht has gone. Her best game of the year may be her first against Tennessee. She's kind of disappeared since then.
Wadsworth reminds me of Desiree Taylor some. Need to put some stick-em or super-glue on those hands.

When the Huskers shoot 24% from the field and 53% from the charity stripe you'd expect them to get blown out by a team the likes of Oklahoma.
The Huskers will beat some teams their not supposed to in the Big 12. There isn't any reason the Huskers couldn't of won this game. You got to put the ball in the hole to win in the Big 12 especially on your home court.
Nebraska's defense played fairly well but when you can't shoot worth a hoot and turn the ball over 25 times it just doesn't add up.
Win or lose it's fun to watch a shorthanded NU team just being able to compete with the competion their facing unlike the last couple of years when they were out of the game at the 3 minute mark.
Row6.....out!

Thank god they don't give points for pretty or take away for ugly. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
Gonna be an interesting year, I think OU was still a bit tentative on the offensive end in the first half and had some leftover out of sync stuff from the Stanford game. Sure is good to see Chelsi play well.
I agree with Schooner in regards to Schuknecht. Coale made a comment that Schuknecht was putting too much pressure on herself...?I think that's what she said.
I was really impressed with the defense both teams played, especially given that both teams have such new looks this year.
