Am sending a rally cry, now that the "season" has begun----How about all involved with the Sooner Women quit talking about how dessimated we are and how "Black" a certain "Tuesday" was. In every sport injuries occur at various times and degrees to various players, their parents, coaches and friends. Players, transfer, get suspended or have heart problems(both medical and size oriented) and even cancer.
From the posts and picks, everybody herein is well aware of the plethora of "knees" we have been forced to endure this year. But let us all remember virtually each Big 12 team and many recent Sooner women squads have also endured injuries, ACL's, ankles or other dings and departures along the way. OK, maybe not as bad as this year. Regardless, the crossroad is now here. Will all involved continue to talk about how bad the injuries are all year or will we suck it up, move on and "dig a little deeper"?
Heck we beat North Carolina, their only loss, played UCONN close til Taurasi went off starting the second half, beat TCU, who beat Vanderbilt, beat Wichita State in their cracker box on the road etc.,,,
I submit the constant chatter or even excuse making is also heard by the players. These young women are all studs, talented and competitors. Let's support them and expect, maybe even demand, we all step up, fight, battle and achieve more than any believed possible.
As a true "homer", I am predicting at least a top 3 finish. Please don't ask me how, but staying on task and positive, without the "Oh well, we have so much bad luck" being infused, this year will and can be truly special.
Go Sooner Women!!!! Keep positive and believe. Never doubt your ability to win a game or quit competing and trusting your teammate. Chemistry wins more games than just good healthy players.
It is a war in the Big 12---let the games begin!!!!!
