I was looking at the Northwestern WBB website, and caught the name Billy Fennelly as the new director of operations there. Obviously, I know about Bill Fennelly at ISU, and it said that Billy was a manager at ISU. Is he Bill's son?
For that matter, are there any Big 12 teams that have announced schedules for non-conference (and/or any that are playing against Northwestern)?

Yes, and as of several weeks ago he is also the husband of Lyndsey (Medders) Fennelly, Bill's brand new daughter-in-law. :)

I believe ISU is playing in a tournament at Northwestern over Thanksgiving. CyclonesRule might have more info on that. It hasn't been officially announced yet.

Yes the ISU WBB team will be playing in Northwestern's Thanksgiving Tourney. Normally Bill strays from playing former assistants or in this case his son, but I think this trip is more so the family can be together during the holiday.

A little more info on Billy. This upcoming season will be his second as Director of Basketball Operations at Northwestern. I managed to see several Northwestern games on tv last year and while they weren't winning many, a lot of the games were close and came down to NU not finishing when they had opportunities. Should be much better this year.
The year before last, Billy was on Brenda Frese's staff at Maryland for his first job out of college. I forget what his actual title was there.
Lyndsey has been traveling around the US and Canada while working for Point Guard College. She's done color commentary for Iowa State games televised locally on Mediacom for the last two seasons as well.

If I see him once I get to Northwestern, I'll have to congratulate him.
Of course, I suppose none of the schedules released are official yet. I've heard nothing about either Nebraska or Northwestern... or many of the other Big 12 teams in WBB. The Nebraska men have already announced the nonconference schedule, though. If the Thanksgiving tournament is at Northwestern and if any of the ISU Hoopscoopers will be going, I'll be looking for you. :)
I don't think I'll be able to make a road trip to Iowa City unless it's a weekend, as I won't have a car down in Evanston and I hear that grad school can be a bearcat in the first year.

CyRox and I are planning on making the trip.
2007 - Thanksgiving in Nashville (best Thanksgiving Dinner - EVER!)
2008 - Thanksgiving in Honolulu (favorite trip - EVER!)
2009 - Thanksgiving in Chicago ( ???? - EVER!)

Since I will be living in Eastern Iowa by then, I might go see KU play Iowa. It's much closer than Ames.

Definitely--Kansas. I will be rooting for Big 12 teams, not Big 10 teams. I will however cheer for alma mater, which is not D1.
