Hope there's a picture of Ny Stevenson carrying the trophy around every single section of the Ford Center and hoisting it skyward to a throng of crimson-colored cheerers. Every. Single. Section.

BTW, SportsCenter just said that UConn didn't cut down their nets. The one guy then blurted out, "Act like you've been there before."

Whitney Hand's smile after she hit her first 3 was priceless. I just love how she plays and the joy that she seems to get from playing. She is also tough as nails.

I think my new nickname for Whitney is 'Timex'. I sat near the baseline at the end of the court where OU shot the ball in the first half. Whitney took a beating from the Purdue players. I couldn't see if she took the same type of abuse in the second half. I've been very impressed with her all year, but I'm even more impressed after last night.

I general principle don't like Geno, but am I the only one with a problem with the "act like you've been there" mantra and not cutting down the nets? Some of those kids haven't been there, and you never know.....they might not get back again.
What's the harm in celebrating your accomplishments? As long as it is tempered with the understanding that this isn't your only goal.....I don't get it. Anyone know if they took the nets at the conference tourney?
I'm glad OU celebrated and enjoyed themselves.....what an achievement, and how wonderful to celebrate with those closest to you!

After the UCONN men's team won the regional, they didn't cut down the nets either. Or at least, I saw a live interview with Calhoun that suggested they didn't. Calhoun said something like, we will save that for Detroit.
I think cutting the nets should be up to the team. And I get the impression at UCONN it was a decision influenced by the coaching staffs.
And I agree with you, let the players have their moment.

To each his own, but the UConn attitude seems a little pretentious to me (and I'm not a UConn hater.) The OU Football team takes a team picture in front of the scoreboard every time they win a game that involves a trophy - OU/Texas, Big XII Championship or bowl game. It would seem like shortchanging the players if they stopped doing that except in the case of a National Championship.
