Mine has to be the NCAA Regional in Boise. We made the trip out (as not many did). I was born there in 1942, moved away when I was three, and have never been back. We toured the town, making frequent cell phone calls to my mother as we looked for the houses my family had lived in. Toured the the museum at Gowan field, where my Dad had been stationed.
And the games, from our seats in the fourth row! Colorado refusing to be intimidated by Stanford's height or credentials. Overcoming a gritty Tech team that was outmanned but wouldn't quit. Watching with awe and respect as Eisha Bohman refused to lose and carried the Buffs on her back in the regional finals. The magical two minutes of perfect basketball in the second half that turned that neck-and-neck game into a route. Sherri moving to the end zone in the last minute so she could experience the both game on the floor and the seniors already on the bench celebrating as they realized they were going to the final four!

Probably the Tech v. Vanderbilt game. That was such a rough period for the team, with Plenette's suspension and new players struggling to step up and right the ship. That was a little gem of a game that promised they were determined not to go down the tube, and held a promise of good things to come.
Good question Soonerman.
For me the answer is not easy. The first Bramlage sell out game with Nebraska sure comes to mind. The place was rocking and people were lined up for hours before the game. Some fans never got in. Another memory was the NCAA tourney game with Arkansas and Coach Gary Blair. Man what noise and excitement. Coach Blair said he had never heard a louder arena.
The best memory for me may have been a game that was not that significant. Being part of 10,000 Wildcat fans on the road at Allen Fieldhouse was just incredibly fun and a VERY enjoyable day. I knew a lot of fans would go to Lawrence for that game but I never dreamed more than 10,000. I was just "grinning" happy for the program, the players and Coach Patterson in "Bramlage east".
The topper however was a game I was not at. KSU vs. ISU to open the conference season at Hilton. I think that was the biggest win in terms of importance to the team in the season. Then backing that win up with wins vs. Colorado & Texas Tech at home just got us on a roll. Go Big 12,and especially GO BIG FANS of WCBB!!!!

1. Boise - "The Big-12 Invitational" (well, almost). The last two minutes of the Stanford game seemed to last 2 hours! Also, the Boise area was a nice place to visit.
2. KC - Big-12 hoops mania. I also got to meet some fellow hoopscoopers (see y'all in Dallas)!
3. The TTU game (had to watch it on TV). When Nightingale hit that monster 3 near the end of the game I knew that the Buffs were destined to win.

Easy. Last Saturday, Tennessee at Texas, Nina Norman hitting the game winning 3 point shot with 1 second left on the game clock. That was a very exciting game. Second, would be the NCAA tournament, game one, Texas vs University of Wisconsin Green Bay. It seemed as though it had been forever since Texas had won a game in the NCAA tournament. Here we were, at home, and in a tight game. Senior Asha Hill, came off the bench to shock Green Bay by hitting several big three point shots. The talk surrounding Texas last year was all about the young talent but it was the pure determination of the seniors that led Texas to a first round NCAA tournanment win.

Ditto on Nina Norman's (next to) last second game winner against Tennessee.

Would have to be Texas beating the Tennessee Lady Vols for two years in a row. Not too many other teams could match that accomplishment except for maybe Uconn. Still Tennessee is a great team with a program and great coach that we all respect. I would never under estimate a team coached my Pat Summitt.

1. Randie Wirt's two free throws vs. Stanford in Boise.
2. Mandy Nightingale's three pointer at Tech in OT.
3. Eisha Bohman in Boise when all was lost but she kept going.
and my No. 1 non-homer pick? Texas over Tennessee. Anytime.

Yes, that was a big moment in the Iowa State season as well. First loss of the season, first home loss in almost two full years, to a very young team that played a style similar to Iowa State -- and did it much better in that game. The beginning of the toughest three weeks of ISU Women's basketball in many years, and a harbinger of things to come, for both teams.
As a Buffs fan, I have to go along with Kate Dawg's first two picks:
1. Randie Wirt's two free throws vs. Stanford in Boise.
2. Mandy Nightingale's three pointer at Tech in OT.
I was in the stands at Boise and it was so sweet to watch Randie calmly put in those free throws, especially after Stanford had called time out to try to ice her.
And, even tho only watching on TV, you could tell what that huge 3 pointer from Mandy did at TT. That is such a hard place for a visiting team to win but that shot seemed to be, as mc said, destiny.
My third pick, coming as a Big 12 WBB fan, would have to be the Texas victories over Tennessee. They are indicative of the way that WBB is going, that there are now more teams who can beat any other team on any given day. And that can only be good for this sport.

Mine is the Final Four. What an incredible experience it is to sit with 28,000 other fans. San Antonio is a really neat place.

Mine is with 2:15 left to play in the championship game as OU pulls within 6 points of UCONN 73-67 on a Dales breakaway layup. Then hearing the UCONN crowd go silent and realize they will have to cheer loudly and spur their team on to victory. And OU fans realizing we were 2:15 and 6 points from, what some people were asking, possibly upsetting the best team in women's college bball history.
Two very close seconds:
The perfect game OU played against OSU in the Big 12 Tournament. That was perfect from tip-off to the end as the entire Sooner team went nuts and demolished OSU.
The perfect 2nd half OU played against Colorado in the Elite 8 game. Again showing what OU could accomplish when playing to their full potential.
Well, okay, I guess that reminds me of perhaps the highlight of the Iowa State season: the perfect second half they played against Oklahoma at Hilton, demolishing the second-best team in the country just a few days after one of ISU's worst losses in recent years (at Texas A & M). Going in to this game, everyone wondered whether Iowa State's season was going to completely melt down; after this game it was clear that its drive toward the post-season was back on track.

my best memory of Womens Basketball in 2002?
It's a tie....
1. Hartford beating Stony Brook in the America East final. The school's first NCAA tourney bid in one of best atmospheres I've ever gone to a game in. A gym that has never rocked before truly loud and boisterous, or at least as loud and boisterous as their head coach.
1A. Nebraska 67, Kansas State 52. One of the few times that Team Worthless played well.
1B. Pale Sanderfraud resigns.

1. Beating Mississippi State and shutting down LaToya Thomas in the NCAA 2nd round in Lubbock last year!
2. Beating ISU in Ames and the 3 pointing shooting exhibition put on by Tarr and Ritchie. Ames has become one of the toughest away places to play and with our ups and downs last year it was an unexpected and terrific win.
3. Going to the final four and seeing OU do the Big 12 proud and yelling Boomer Sooner much to the suprise to the myriad of UConn fans surrounding us.
