According to Jerry Hill, assistant sports editor for the Tribune-Herald, Sophia Young may never get a better chance for a slam dunk than the alley-oop pass that Jessika Stratton delivered Monday night. Jessika said, "She could have put me on (ESPN's) SportsCenter." Sophia said, "I was too far under the basket...but hopefully I'll try it." http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/biggrin.gif The crowd went wild on the play and we all know exciting things are to come.
Sophia certainly deserves the Rookie of the Week honor that she received this week. We may see her name on that list more than once.
Dionne Brown will hit the court next Wednesday when conference play begins against Missouri. This will make Baylor very strong on the inside along with the play of Young, Blackmon and Hamerly.
