Cisti Greenwalt had a team best 21, Jia Perkins had 20 and Natalie Ritchie had 11 despite having an awful case of the stomach flu for the past two days.

Once again our bench was the factor since everyone stepped up and contributed.

"I think Texas Tech is underrated, and I think they are one of the best three teams in the country," Southern Miss coach Rick Reeves said. "I just think Marsha does a great job, and they should go a long way with the return of Plenette Pierson. I think (Tech), Duke and Tennessee are the best teams in the country right now."

That was a very nice thing that Rick Reeves said. Personally, I had just as soon keep that our little secret until NCAA pairings are made.

Good game by Mik Tennal off the bench. 7 points 5 assists and only 1 turnover in 17 minutes. The lead was 24-21 when she came into the game with about 8 minutes left in the half. Halftime score 42-28.

Yes, Mik has been a good, steady, reliable performer all year.
She has worked hard to improve her defense, too, and it shows.

Biggest thing to take away from this game is Greenwalt's growth into an all-around dominant player. If she can sustain this throughout the season this team has an incredible inside/outside threat. Rutgers should be an interesting match up for us. Hopefully Coach Sharp puts Perkins on Pondexter for defensive pressure and to keep Erin out of foul trouble. Great week for the Lady Raiders!!!
