Oklahoma pulled away from a 10-10 tie and never looked back to defeat the Otahkians.
One of the more unique nicknames for a team you'll ever see. Otahki is the name of a Cherokee Indian princess that died on the Trail of Tears during the winter of 1838-39 as they were forced to move westward to Oklahoma.
Here's the official blurb:
Theresa Schuknecht had 23 points and eight rebounds, and Dionnah Jackson added 20 points to lead No. 19 Oklahoma to an 87-59 victory Saturday over Southeast Missouri State.
Maria Villarroel added 13 points for the Sooners (9-3).
Kenja White led Southeast Missouri (6-4) with 21 points, and Lori Chase had 14 points and five rebounds.
Oklahoma dominated the first half, hitting 62.1 percent of its field goal attempts and all 10 free-throw tries to take a 49-25 halftime lead.
Southeast Missouri State closed the gap in the second half, hitting 15-of-34 field goals attempts and 28.6 percent of its 3-point shots.
The Sooners outscored Southeast Missouri in the paint (44-12) and in points off turnovers (25-8).
