For the Lady Bears

Wilson
Medlock
Griffin at the point
Jones at the 2 guard or even the 3 if Washington or Madden freshmen excel
Griner or W. Zachariasan ...just a matter of time with Griner

:ISU:

PG: Williams (so)
2G: Lacey (sr)
3G: Bolte (jr)
PF: Arlen (so)
C: Prins (fr)

Yackley (so) will push Williams for the starting PG spot. If they both fall flat I could see Stuckey (sr) starting with Lacey/Stuckey splitting time between PG/2G. No matter what, Stuckey will probably play 15-25 mpg. There are a host of other guards who will be fighting for some PT as well -- Florzak (sr), Mosman (sr), Rockall (so), and Schroll (fr).

If Prins isn't quite good enough to start right away, I could see Zimmerman (fr) starting at PF and Arlen at C. I do expect Prins to start from the beginning, though. Poppens (fr) and Lightbourne (sr) will add to the post depth. I really don't know what to expect with Poppens -- she was a big-time player on a good-not-great team at a small school. She was also all-state volleyball. Fennelly says that, like Stuckey, Poppens' motor is always running.

I agree with Mred. I would love to see Gen Lightbourne get more playing time. She is an explosive athlete, and if she could learn to channel it, she could be dangerous. I might also insert Stuckey for Willilams - at least early in the season.

PG- Goodrich (r-fr)
2G- Morris (sr)
3G- McCray (sr)
PF- Smith (jr)
C- Boogaard (jr)

That's the logical thought but with 5 new faces and 6 new players (Goodrich) anything is possible with those being 3 guards and 3 posts. Wow, that's crazy to think almost half the team will be new, but we will return almost 100% of the scoring, Catic chips in a couple a game.

Any of the math/matrix guru's going to give us the % returning for scoring and rebounding for the teams?

If I were to guess right now it would be a lineup of Brittany Chambers, Kari Kincaid, Shalin Spani, Ashley Sweat and Jalana Childs.

Branshea Brown will see lots of playing time.

There are several others who could do very well or break into the starting lineup.

Hopefully:

PG Lindsey Moore (frosh)
2G/3G Yvonne Turner (senior)
2G/3G Dominique Kelly (junior)
PF Cory Montgomery (senior)
C Kelsey Griffin (senior)

If Moore isn't ready:

PG Kaitlynn Burke (junior)
2G/3G Yvonne Turner (senior)
2G/3G Dominique Kelly (junior)
PF Cory Montgomery (senior)
C Kelsey Griffin (senior)

Potentially three all-B12 calibre players and a lot of experience. Makes me pretty excited for next year, assuming they stay healthy and improve over the summer.

I agree with Jimi's thoughts on the lineup. However, it will be interesting to see who replaces Shalee Lehning at PG. Brittany Chambers (frosh) is projected by some to be more of a 2G. She is explosive and will be an impact player and scorer. Coach P may have to go with Kari Kincaid (senior) at PG, which is not Kari's natural position. Taelor Karr (frosh) has Lehning-like characteristics. She is from a small town in Kansas and could be starting at PG after she gets some experience in the first part of the year. Mariah White (frosh) is another explosive 2G, much like Kimberly Dietz. She could see significant playing time. Also, look for the Wildcats to sometimes go with a big lineup where Ashley Sweat (senior) switches to 3G/SF with Jalana Childs (soph) and Branshea Brown (soph) at PF's. This lineup will create match up problems for the Big 12 teams.

Texas

I think all starting jobs are open and will be determined first by pre-season practices and then performance in games. Fontenette, Raven and Kat Nash have the inside track for starting positions. I'd love to see Erika earn a starting job.

The burning question for me is who will be on the roster. Carla Cortijo and Earnie Williams each have a red-shirt year available but participated in senior night and are expected to leave. If that happens, and no one else leaves the team, Texas will return 7 players and bring in 2 freshmen. I expect (hope) Texas to sign one or two players in the Spring even if unsigned prospects Kelsey Bone and Taylor Hill both go elsewhere..
