Great win for CU today but a very odd game. The score at the half was CU 36 - USC 26. The first half was defense (by both teams) and fouls (by USC). I think it was about 15 minutes into the game before CU scored their second field goal (!) BUT they were maintaining a lead in the game via free throws. On field goals CU was 1 of 10, then (if memory serves) 8 of the next 12 in the first half.

In the second half both teams turned the offense on while keeping up the defense. CU's big lead was 14 but USC made use of CU fouls and turnovers to tie the game at 86 with under 2 minutes to go. Fouls by USC, with CU making 7 of 8 free throws, and tight defense by CU forcing USC turnovers (including a 5 second violation on a USC inbounds attempt)and the game was over.

Well, todays CU and Texas wins will certainly help the Big 12 RPI. USC, although sporting only a 5-5 record coming into todays game, had an RPI of 11 with a strength of schedule of 2 (their 5 losses prior to todays game were all to top 10 ranked teams). And Tenn held the top spot in the RPI, with a SoS of 17.

It was an odd game :-). Colorado couldn't get in a rythem and committed a lot of turnovers under pressure. Sy Stafford really struggled and the Buffs never really were settled at point guard and that made it a tough do.

Tera Bjorklund was only stopped by her fouls and several of them were silly on her part. It seemed that had she been able to get 30 plus minutes she may have scored close to 40 points.

This game and the CSU game were similar in that both time the Buffs could have put the game out of reach midway in the second half, but failed to do so due to turnovers, etc.

Amber Metoyer may never develop a reliable jump shot, but she will make a difference. Her offensive rebound that fould out USC's Hoffman and her ensuing free throws show character that can't be taught.

I agree with Mark. Amber Metoyer plays with a lot of passion and character, Once she develops a little more offensive consistency, look out.

I hope I never see the 3 officials that we had for this game again. They were just plain AWFUL. I will give USC a lot of credit for not giving up. Ebony Hoffman and Rometra Craig are the real deal. They will win a lot of ball games in the Pac-10 this year.

The CU players should be very proud of themselves for not losing their composure when USC tied the game at 86.

How about Tera??? 28 points in 21 minutes. If she wouldn't have gotten in foul trouble, she could have easily scored 40 today.

O.K. Way to go Buffs. Our conference should be looking a little better when next week's conference RPI's come out. "Tera's a terror". I think she's dropped a lot of points on Texas the past couple of years even playing 20 minutes or less a game.

USC seems to do that to games win or lose. They just play in such a way that the game seems out of sync in every game I've seen them play. It does not benefit them all that much and the games are not fun to watch.

I happy and pleased that the Buffs won. Good Job!

The Tenn game would have raised Texas's RPI even if they had lost. They were something like 177. They ought to jump more than a hundred points if there is any justice. I hated to see OU lose and RPI is only a small part of it. Thanks to CU TTU & UT the Big 12 is looking a little stronger tonight.
