A warm night in Dallas beats a cold night in Hartford any day. These are the times that I really feel like I've been in New England too long. I've been blessed to take another trip at one of my favorite vacation spots. One week of fun, fellowship and the most competitive womens college basketball in the nation. Recession? What recession? This is much needed stimulus package for the spirit...in the company of some spirits.

"Did I forget to pack that Cory Montgomery jersey?"
"App, where and why did you get a Cory Montgomery jersey?"

"After the way she's been playing, you'd figure every Husker fan would have one."

The Apparition and I sharing a car to Oklahoma City. Remind me to load more on the Ipod.

Actually, the wannabe Jiminy Cricket has a point.

"Of course I have a point..."

Cory Montgomery is one of the suprises in what has been a surprising and fun season.
Who would have thought that Oklahoma could come back from the dead in Berkeley. Or Baylor signing the next Godzilla and then celebrating with a strong season.

Whodathunkit? Courtney's streak ending.
Whodathunkit? Oklahoma bashing Tennessee
Whodathunkit? Texas A&M forcing 29 turnovers and beating OU
Whodathunkit? Texas Tech fighting back to the fringe of NCAA bubble

Or perhaps, the emergence of Ashley Paris...or Kansas' and Nebraska's late season rallies or Kansas State's last season swoon?

Another Big 12 season now comes down to the knockout stage and the stakes are high for a few key players. Any game could be their last in Big 12 play.

Once again, I'll ring in with some game reports and a little bit of opinion..

"A little bit of opinion? Yeah, right.

"Uh, may I help you lasses..."

"Lasses? I've been meaning to ask that. Who uses that word anymore."

I'm surrounded by two young ladies. The short one is weaing scarlet and cream and I'll be dang if she doesn't bear resemblance to Kiera Hardy. The other one is wearing a kansas womens basketball t-shirt...she is quite tall...she's vaguely looks like K.C. Hilgenkamp....and what is with those wings?

Yeah, they are wings. A Fairy has wings. What's the big deal.

"Fairies? I don't believe in fairies..."

OOOOOW!

Everytime you say that...A fairy blows her ACL.."

"But I....

The Apparition throws up a sharp hand and covers my mouth with it.

"Now we don't want another fairy doing four to six months of rehab for her freakin' ACL. So lets not say that again shall we...and by the way Chippy, you do believe in fairies.

Yeah, you can't deny it. You said so.

The Basketball Fairy and Nicole Neals have been very good friends so far...she just hit another treyball!

"Excuse me Ms....whoeveryouarewithwings....I mentioned it one time.."

"Actually, according to my calculations...you have mentioned the fae in 7 different HoopScoop treads and have 18 different mentions of the fae within posts and on 4 occasions you asked for direct fairy assistance for your team."

And I heard your calls, son. The 2007 NCAA qualifier? I had a hand in it."

"Had a hand in it? You were our leading scorer."

"I only look like her! Kiera had more magic than any fairy could possible have."
So...You guys are The Basketball Fairy?

"Not exactly. She's The Basketball Fairy...I'm the Bracket Fairy"

"Oh...So here's a dumb question..Can you guys co-exist on Thursday?"

Thursday's...You mean the first game....Uh..well..."

"Hmm co-exist?.....Me...Her....Huskers....Jayhawks....."

The two fairies glare hard at each other. Memo to self....stay away from those two on Thursday...;)
