Damn the torpedos! Full speed ahead! Tennesee can be beaten and the Longhorns can do it. GO BIG 12!!
Texas's current RPI is 177. That's 6 worse than Cal State Fullerton! We all know rpi is silly at this stage of the year and the above fact proves it. BUT it would be a mighty boost to the Big 12 rpi, as well as the Longhorn's, if they pull off the upset.
I was not surprised that the Vols demolished Stanford as they did. Kansas State did NOT have a good game that night and only a part of it was good play from the Cardinal. (singular no less, See even I can get it right sometimes) The team came off a tough game with the Temple Owls (OWL?) the prior night while the Cardinal had a easy game. There were many intangibles in that game that leaned to Stanford yet the game was in serious doubt into the last minute. Give Stanford credit, they shot very well and won the game with solid play. I just did not think they were in any way a clear favorite over K-State and they have shown a vulnerabilty to other teams on ocassion this year. All those things considered I don't see the Vol's win over the Cardinal as proof that the Longhorns are totaly outclassed.
Do I think the Vols will win? Yes I do, but I will not be surprised to see Texas upset them. I think a lot of those intangibles are in Texas's favor for the game. On the other hand I can hear Chipper saying something like "since when is "intangible" playing for Texas and what is her scoring average?"
My UT still has to play that other UT and that still is a tall order, but by no means an impossible one.
GO Longhorns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
