Man that had to be one of the ugliest games I've seen Tech play
on the offensive end! I don't know how many point blank baskets they missed tonight, but the number was legend, and they couldn't buy a free throw. Erin was the exception. She played well on both ends of the floor.

On the other hand, Tech played tremendous defense. Erin Grant and Natalie Ritchie put in wonderful defensive efforts as did Jia. Plenette played good defense most of the time, and Cisti and Jolie played tough in the paint.

Oregon State played really tough defense as well and really got back on defense and battled us on every possession.

The officiating was absolutely the worst I have seen this year and probably should be in serious contention for the seven worst officiated games I have seen.

This was an ugly, ugly, ugly....ugly........ugly...win.

I think visions of sand and surf got in the shooting eyes of the Lady Raiders tonight. Nevertheless, they fought through it, sustained the lead, and got the victory. They performed well enough in some statistical categories: outrebounded OSU, drew more fouls (21-12) and earned more free throws (25-13), nabbed 14 steals, and blocked 8 shots.

The defensive effort was there, although a step slow much of the game. The quickness and intensity improved during key parts of the second half. Nat did have a number of nice plays on defense.

Don't forget Jolee...she played like the old Jolee today. Scapping for the ball, pulling down some rebound and some nice baskets. I didn't think it was ugly...frustrating yes. We (the fans) weren't nearly as frustrated as the players...Jia was just beside herself in frustration.
But the effort and heart and scrap were there...the shots weren't falling..looked like they were rushing their shots...but they kept working hard. Oregon State played pretty decent defense too. Nat played terrific defense and it was good to see Pierson fighting for that ball. We need to have games like this before Big 12 season begins.

You are right Bball Girl, Jolee did play like the Jolee we know and love. It is just that I have gotten really spoiled by their good execution and communication the last few games, the effort was there, the execution wasn't.
