ESPN/USA TODAY Poll (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/wbasketball/rankings?poll=2) is out. Haven't seen AP's yet. Oklahoma (now third) hops over Iowa State (fourth). Baylor (8th) and Tech (11th) move up 2 spots. Colorado (14th) and Texas (20th) move up 1 spot. Kansas State is first in others receiving votes and missed being ranked 25th by one measly, lousy point. If they get in next week, the Big 12 will have 7 ranked teams!
BUT, KSU does have to play ISU!

Yup! And, oha yeah, Baylor!
OU is number 3 in the AP (sportswriters) poll as well. I haven't seen a listing by rank yet, but the story is out.

Tech is #9 in the AP...
It appears that all the press (all 17 of them) in the United States decided to blow off publishing the actual AP poll, because I can't find it anywhere.
Maybe it was the shots of scotch, maybe the powder up their noses, or maybe they are striking for the privilege of providing the American public one sports story per week, and overtime for the rest.
While most of the rest of us are truly glad that the year 2001 is about to end, I get the sense that in the press corps, most of them are just happy tonight.
Happy New Year!
