Wecker had 31 points and at least 13 rebounds! Whew!

Wow! That was a squeeker!
WAY too close for comfort, and another good lesson that no team can take any game for granted as a "sure win." Not that KSU did that, I'm sure Patterson drilled it into them that this would be a serious test.

Good win for KSU!
Here's the box:

Starters played all but 9 minutes. Now the Domenico is healthy, Madden's minutes seem to be dropping. She led the bench w/ 6 minutes.

You are right on all counts dem.
It sounded like a great environment for a game. Standing room only crowd who were really into the game. Standing room only at UWGB means just over 1,800. They are right down there on top of the court like in a highschool game. Deb Patterson said the fans behind the bench were giving her and the players lots of verbal attention all game long. It did not sound like they were out of line though. Just rabid Phoenix fans.
UWGB was the first-round opponent of Texas in last year's NCAA tournament. They were a tough team. I sat relatively close to their bench and enjoyed watching their coach work the sidelines. They were very disciplined and ran a lot of set plays which were printed on signs that the coach held up from the sideline.
While not a big-name win for K-State, it is a solid win, no doubt.
Solid win for the Cats. I don't care what anybody says, these December games in bandbox gyms on the road against good teams are a real test of character for a team. UWGB was poised to jump solidly into the top 25 with a win, so KSU showed me that they are getting ready to be a major player in the conference race again this year, as expected.
Kendra Wecker - 31 points and 13 'bounds, sheesh!

I remember seeing this team play, I thought the coach's idea was ingenious in loud places.
This sounds so much like the OU/WSU game this week....small, loud crowd, scrappy team. Thanks for the reply on the other thread, I honestly didn't know what kind of team UWGB was; though I've heard some folks mention that they were doing well.
Great job http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ksu.gif

Excellent win for KSU. Wisconsin Green-Bay is obviously serious about building on last year's success. Since they play in a no-name conference, they are building their case for a good NCAA seed right now.

From what I glean, this was a very nice win for KSU---Agree with SWOK34, very similar to OU beating WSU in their small gym, on the road. My perception is head to head Wis-GB is a bit better than WSU. Regardless, goood wins for both!!
Point in fact---Wecker is truly a stud!!!! Watching her in 4 games last year,in person, plus her work this year, is enough for me. OU-TCU will be another such game tomorrow.

Interestingly enough the next team to bask in UWGB's tender welcome is ----- Wichita State University! WSU will get to savor the fun of playing in somebody else's nice little loud bandbox next. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif It should be a fun and interesting game.
One thing about the game that may affect the outcome is the officiating style. My sense of things at WSU is that you should expect a "let em play" heavy contact style. At UWGB they will find the opposite end of the spectrum. Good teams should be able to adapt, and the game can be played fairly either way, but the different style could be a problem for WSU.
The game is set for Saturday afternoon in the Phoenix gym.
