I have to vent about the ISU game time for tomorrow night. The women are playing the early game in their own tourney at 5:00, so that according to the ISU website "fans can watch the men take on Iowa at 7:00 from Iowa City."

In my opinion, all this does is prevent a good portion of the fans (like myself) who live outside of Ames and WORK until 5:00 from attending.

I think the university needs to face the fact that, in my opinion, the mens and women's teams have different fan bases. I would be perfectly content to attend the women's game at 7:00 and get periodic score updates from the mens game. Besides which....the mens game with Iowa hopefully won't be much of a game at all! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I agree, and feel it really will hurt attendance, and you are right, the two teams draw different fan bases - in our own little group only 3 of the weekend group of 15 are going to be able to attend Friday's game because of work - But I supose the school feels a strong need to support the "guys" team away from home - (Iowa or whoever) - before considering the consequences to their Home team. Our ladies are struggling enough, hope they don't start thinking because of the losses that their loyal fans are deserting them just when the going gets rough. - We'll be there in Full force Saturday. - Go Clones-Believe!!

At Bill's brown bag lunch on Monday he said that you can blame him for the Friday game time. Orginially when the tournament was set up the Men's game was going to be on Saturday like it normally is. But then Iowa realized they couldn't play on Saturday because the next week was finals week and changed the game to Friday. It sounded like the Women would have played the 5:00 game on Saturday which would have given the people time to get to the game. I work on campus and don't get off till 5:00 so I'll be late.
