After giving Tenn a beating, it looked like Duke might be THE team this year, but my Arkansas Lady'Backs gaves the Dukies all they wanted and more. As a couple of you have already mentioned, Arkansas lead at the half and the lead bounced back & forth in the 2nd half and OT with never more than 4 pts or so between them. Christon from Arkansas fouled out in OT and that really hurt their inside play. It came down to 2 free throws for Beard (she missed several in the game) with 3 secs to go and a half court try by Arkansas that nearly went in. I listened to most of the came...they even had the South Carolina team calling the Hogs. It was one hell of game, so keep your eyes on Arkansas..they're liable to do some damage in the SEC this year.
And Georgia...#8 Georgia got beat by Arizona and Arizona State...back to back....I'd love to see LSU and Arkansas take the SEC by storm!

I thought the Arkansas/Duke game was as much about how good Arkansas might be this year as about potential weakness in Duke. This could be the year that Arkansas gets back to the top of the SEC (top 4, at least) and more womens basketball fans learn the name, "Shameka Christon".

bball girl......Are you a Texas Tech fan, too?....asking that because I see you live in Lubbock.
I, too, hope LSU and Arkansas give the SEC a run for their money. I lived in Baton Rouge for quite a few years and used to go to all of LSU's games. I've never been as familiar with Arkansas, though I have relatives that live in Fayetteville and are big Arkansas fans.

I've been a Tech fan long before I moved to Lubbock. But I worked at Arkansas, had season tickets and have followed them ever since. I also follow New Mexico (my "home") and Arizona (I'm an alum)..men and women bb.
Gary Blair (Arkansas) was head coach at SFA and an assist at La Tech. He's terrific coach. I went to the Final Four in 94 (the year Tech was seated 1 and had the first four rounds in Lubbock and we just knew we would get to see Tech play (I wasn't living in Lubbock)...but Tech got beat by ND and to my surprise I got to see Arkansas...that was fun calling the hogs up in the nose bleed section surrounded by a sea of orange.
Anyway...I have a lot of teams that I follow...and yet I will be pulling for UNM against Texas, it would be quite a coup for a terrific coach and a great program.
