Creighton making a comeback with a bunch of threes. 45-31 Tech.
Jia Perkins has 18 points and 10 rebounds with 4 minutes left in the half! She might be able to get a triple double by the end of the game. Or dare I say Quadruple double? She has at least 4 assists and 3 steals to my count.

Talent was the difference tonight, that and aggressive play. Creighton did exactly what they can't do. If you are flinging the ball around chuck-and-chase with all those quick thieves for Guns Up? You are giving opportunities to a team that'll cash 'em in.

I didn't expect Creighton to win, but losing by the margin its looks like they'll lose by is not a good thing.

Hey Chipper, did you see the game on the satelite? This sounded like a Jia, Pierson, Grant show. Would have loved to have seen it!

Jia was on it tonight, no question! But it shows what happens when you have superior athlete who can play some basketball. I heard the game..didn't get to see it, but TTU was running their game plan. Jia controlled outside, and Plenette and company had looks all night partly because Creighton has no post play to begin with really compared to TTU.
To my lasses credit, the Bluejays did make a challenge with their ability to shoot, but that could make up for the fact that we didn't defend well, and the posts didn't really have a shot. I'm disappointed in how the game turned out for Creighton. Tonight's performance does not bode well once my lasses in blue get into conference play. I was hoping the lasses would be able to diversify and play some basketball and stay within 15. Instead we chucked, chased, got torched by 28.

WOW! DOUBLE WOW! I haven't seen anyone play like that for Tech since Swoopes graduated. It was a joy to behold.

Chipper, I have to disagree with you. Creighton played a heck-of-a game. I don't think the LA Sparks could have stopped Jia tonight, and Plennette played better than I have seen her play. Creighton played hard, hustled all night, and got a lot of rebounds they shouldn't have through sheer determination. They have a number of really good players and Christy Neneman could be first string with any team in the country! The final score doesn't begin to reflect how well and how hard Creighton played, and we added on a bunch of points after Christy fouled out.

I love Christy, and a lot of programs made a mistake by passing on her, but still when you lose by 28 it isn't good. Its the typical Creighton formula. I love the heart and determination, but when it comes down to it, athletes are gonna beat you if you don't defend well and when somebody gets 41 on you, you didn't defend well. I'm thinking conference season here, and there's a pair of team with TTU-Style athleticism and size waiting to thump us.

I'm mostly disappointed in the margin. I'm proud of the way the kids fought and kept the game close. I'm worried about the balance of the team. Once again, 0-2 against postseason teams from the previous year so far.

But I will say, they did show why they are Nebraska's REAL team. The Huskers would have lost by 50 or 60.

I think the score is a bit deceiving... The last 5 minutes became a horse race and the faster horse increased the lead. I've got to concur that Creighton played well and I loved Newman's hustle and heart. They played taller than they are because they are great shooters and could get the ball off over the heads of the taller players. Tech worked hard for this victory and it was good to get some good competition.

I liked them a lot..they are a well coached team, scrappy, hard working kids (who can rebound very impressively against a much taller team)who never gave up and who are great shooters. They're going to get some good wins tonight.

One of the best moments came late in the 2nd half when a Creighton player (didn't catch the number) snuck up behind Jia and turned the tables and stole the ball right between her dribbles....the look on her face ...where'd you come from and where's the ball were priceless...

Jia...was magic tonight. I can't even begin to describe what I saw on the court tonight from her..she's a one of a kind player.
