Plainview (5-0) 80, Lubbock Coronado (3-2) 31.
Alesha Robertson had 26 pts

Duncanville (8-0) 103, Arlington Sam Houston 38
T Jackson had 24 pts

so far this season:
Robertson averages 28.6 in 5 games

Jackson averaged 13.2 in her first 5 games
and now averages 16.4 in 8 games

Plainview lost their starting point guard to an acl tear earlier this week...

“I knew we might struggle early, and we did,” said coach Danny Wrenn. “But we kind of settled down.”

Nothing will calm a team down like getting the ball in the hands of your All-Amerca forward. Alesha Robertson who scored four points to close out the first quarter, netted 14 in the second to push her team well out in front. Robertson had 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and drew a charge in the first half. She finished the night with 26 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals.

“We finally got Alesha involved and got her the ball a little more,” Wrenn said. “She is the real deal. She just does everything -- scores, defends and passes.”

With the ball in Robertson´s hands the rest of the Lady Dogs filled their roles to perfection with tough defense and timely shooting. Chelsea Hartman was 3 of 4 from the 3-point line, finishing with nine points, and Reinart drilled a 3 on an assist from Robertson to close out the first half.

...would love updates from others on how their recruits are doing...the major girls I am following are Robertson, Jackson, Rush, Baughman and Carey

3A Canyon defeated 5A Amarillo High

Texas signee Kalee Carey, Canyon High, scored 14 points.
Leah Rush, Amarillo High, OU signee, was held to six points.
Tech signee, Canyon's Brooke Baughman, was held to 5 points

I also read that Canyon sophmore forward, Jordan Hampton, scored 17 points, including 12 in the second half. A future prospect?

On another topic, anyone going to the big highschool tournament in San Antonio this weekend? I can only go on Saturday if I go at all. The tournament will be filled with good teams and future college players.

I had planned to go, but just can't swing it now. It will be a great weekend for GBB. I hope the Texas teams do well. It sounds like most are there, except Canyon.

Canyon is hosting their own tournament the 5th-7th so that prevented them from attending the SA tournament.

I hope the Texas teams represent well. Plainview and #1 Lynnwood CA are on the same bracket side and would meet in the semifinals if they make it that far. Duncanville is on the other side so they could meet Lynnwood in the finals
