51-37 OU starting to pull away

It's on FCS Central (but I'm also watching UNM/SDSU and Arizona (men)/ASU.

It must have been quite the half time talk by Coach Coale ;) I think OU was trailing at half time..

The score was tied at the half. We held up really well for the half. In the second half, we had a scoring drought of over 5 minutes, which killed us. CP is just too much for Kara to handle. Adjustments were made at half time that CU could not handle.

Good game OU and good game :CU:

OU was able to go on its run in the second half when they began converting turnovers into baskets. Really, CU had done very well until about 4 minutes into the second half by not turning the ball over and playing some solid defense. But once they started turning the ball over they effectively took away any opportunity they had. OU plays its game and doesn't flinch. They were relentless on defense in the second half and CU just couldn't handle it.

I have to say that I didn't recognize Ashley Paris as she has lost a lot of weight.

dont know what to think about this game, nice effort but at some time you need to win. I think the next 4 games on the schedule will go a long way in determining the success of this season

The other biggie that jumped out at me was free throws. CU was something like 5 of 13 in the second half. That was horrible. For a team like CU to play with a top team like OU, they have to take advantage of free throws. Had they hit most of them, this might have been a very different game. The OU lead was only 10 with a few minutes to go. That would have been only a 3 point lead with 7 more made free throws by CU...... and then who knows.

Coach Barry used to really emphasize free throw shooting, for this very reason. She once characterized the foul line as 'her sixth player'. I still remember the quote from Randy Wirt, when she hit her free throws in the NCAA sweet 16 game in Boise against Stanford to sew up the upset by CU .... "It's only free throws ... we shoot them every day in practice"

i think the freethrow thing shows the youth of the team. Even with ceals teams most of the time the young kids struggled the most at the line and got better as they matured. I hope after the next 4 games the team is 3-5 and I think that is possible.

except the worst offender last night was Kara at 1 for 7 and she's a fifth year senior.

Kara was the worst offender at the free throw line and most of her misses were not even close to going in.

OU didn't shoot much better from the free throw line. If they had made their free throws, the score would have been even worse.

To me, there is no excuse for Kara going 1-7 from the FT line.

i think there is not any excuse to loose by 30 every road game either, and only score 32 pts in a game when your coach says she has 5 people on the floor who can score.
