I have cousins that attend the same high school as Oklahoma recruit Krista Sanchez. Take a wild guess at the news coming from her high school? You get one try.

Sanchez is undergoing an MRI today to determine if she has torn her MCL. She was injured last Friday and actually played some of the next game - but in pain. This if proven true, would be similar to Desiree Taylor's injury. She had a partially torn MCL and was able to play sparingly the remainder of the season.

What has Coach Coale and staff done to tick off the basketball gods? It's now nearly become a prerequisite to have a torn ACL or MCL before stepping, with crutches, on campus.

Now that OU is headed to Hawaii, flying out today, I can't help but recall the Brady's trip to Hawaii. Maybe that's it!

OU travelled to Hawaii in November 1999 and one of the coaching staff must have picked up a tiki (http://davidbrady.com/eb/buncheps4.html#bunch73). (idol). But unknown to the coaches, the tiki causes unfortunate things to happen to people's legs. Just ask my mother - she was on that trip and hurt her knee climbing up a steep set of stairs on the side of a mountain. Now, three years later she is facing knee replacement surgery. True story!

But, now that OU is returning to Hawaii, they should do just as Greg and Peter and Bobby did, and return the tiki (http://davidbrady.com/eb/buncheps4.html#bunch74) to the tiki caves. Then go to the beach, have a luau and sacrifice a pig to the basketball gods - or something like that.

Surely, this is all just a bad dream.

Geez...this is getting ridiculous!

Hopefully her injury isn't to serious.

schooner, that is aweful news. Knee problems seem to have really taken over the women's game. A lot of my friends coach high school ball and they are all paying more attention to joint strength issues. My sister has had problems for years with her ankles and knees. She quit bball after one year in college to play volleyball. I really hope more pressure is put on jr high and high school coaches to work on strength and conditioning of these girls. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Krista, although I hope it isn't anything that requires surgery.

LOL........maybe it was Jadrea Seeley that picked up the tiki, she was on the team that year and she is also out this season with one of those, you know........torn ACL's.

http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif I really hope Sanchez is ok. Last year, Antoinette tore more than just her ACL, she also tore the MCL in her leg.....Rosalind, of course, had no surviving ligaments left in her knee when they finally went in and looked.
