Way to go K-State for winning the WNIT and doing the Big 12 proud.

Here's a box: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaw/scores/20021124/pafkab.html

The "Big Four" of Koehn, Olde, Wecker, and Mahoney each played 39 minutes, and Domenico got 30--glad to see she must be getting healthier.
Ohlde had 17 pts, 10 boards, 7 assists, and 3 blocks, while Wecker had 26 pts and 14 boards.

Thanks Jennifer.

K-State 88, Penn State 66. Yaaahooooo!!!!!!! I don't know how it sounded on TV but it was loud and fun in Bramlage. The thing tthat most stands out to me was offensive rebounds. K-State 19, Penn State 3.

Kelly Mazzante on Megan Mahoney "She was pretty much taking herself away from the rest of the defense and looking me right in the eye. Everywhere I went she went."

Rene Portland on Kendra Wecker "I'd take her in a foxhole with me."

Wecker was the WNIT most valuable player. Ohlde was all tourney.

Deb Patterson's game plan was to limit Mazzante and to keep Penn State out of its offensive rythm. She was willing to give up points by other players and even some layups if those goals were accomplished. I'd say she got what she wanted.

GO WILDCATS!!!! GO BIG 12!!!!

WAY TO GO, WILDCATS!!!!! Wish I could have been there.
What was I saying in an earlier post? K-State is going to be the team to beat this year. Have a feeling that they're going to mush through the rest of the season leaving nothing but total devastation and destruction. Go, Cats!

Congrats to the Cats!

K-State is just tough. That is the bottom line. Tough and smart.

Yes, Jimi, it looked and sounded loud and rowdy on TV as well. The Oxygen TV cameraman must have been on a trampoline. At times the picture was bouncing up and down. It made me dizzy.

As a result of today's games, Kansas State should close the gap with Tennessee in the polls and might even take over second in the Coaches poll.

KSU was terrific. I'd forgotten how much tenacity Wecker has. PSU has a good team too, but the 'Cats made them look rattled and out of sync. Very good defense (the offense has been stellar)...glad we don't have to play KState until the end of the season here in Lubbock.

I was impressed by the crowd noise..there were some empty seat, but the enthusiasm of the folks there made up for it...looked like a good student turnout too.

Thanks to Dish Network, I don't get Oxygen, sounded like a great win. Nice job representing the Big XII!

Now you can see why I was not bothered by the 29 turnovers in the USC game. It was clear that what was happening was an ajustment back to a different rotation with Domenico working back into the line-up and Coach Patterson using the game to try new things.

In the PSU game we had 9 turnovers. Domenico played 30 minutes and had only one turnover v. PSU. Now she just needs to rebuild her personal offensive game. She went 0-3 shooting and that will not continue. She can play this game and you will see her shooting stats come up as she gets more into the flow of things. Last year she did not get a chance to play her game. She has a lot more left to show us and it will come. Experience wise, she is almost a new freshman.

With Domenico available Patterson can go with a quick line-up that is still good sized or a big line-up that is still reasonably quick. The rub is we need everyone, but with them Patterson has lots of good options.

The offense flows better this year with much better movement and an open floor with lots of cutters. The guards are running the pick and roll with Ohlde like Stockton & Malone. Ohlde is getting lots of assists including seven v. PSU. It is tough to defend this offense but the players need to be tough to keep moving sharply all game long. I'm not sure there is always going to be that much gas in the tank.

They won't win all their games but it sure is fun to watch.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

Very impressive, KSU. Congratulations on the win. I just wish we had Oxygen so I could have seen it.

This was a very fun game to watch. One thing I enjoyed about most of the games I watched on Sunday was that there did not seem to be a lot of fouls called.

K-State looked great. Its not just that the "big 3" are talented, they play with such heart and soul. They just have "it" - that instinct to do the right thing at the right time. They are just amazing to watch. I just hope the pressure of being so highly rated doesn't ruin that chemistry. It will be intriguing to watch them handle the pressure. Who would have thunk this a year ago?

Like I have said before, it is more than just the Big 3 now. We could call them the Fantastic Four (w/ Mahoney). However, that could change to 5 if Domenico stays healthy and continues to handle the ball as well as she did on Sunday.

Go Cats!

Amazing, ain't it?

What I get from this? Another great aspect of basketball is a couple of great years of recruiting can take you from the bottom of the barrel to the very top. Assuming of course you already have a great coaching staff in place as well.

Sorry all, don't know why that posted again. I am impressed with Mahoney, but I still say its the Big 3 that makes this team so special.
