I'm having trouble finding the game in Waco. 1660 is broadcasting the men's game and 92.9 is still playing Christmas music. I tried to get the internet broadcast and couldn't get that to work either.
Time Warner 15 and Grande 78 are not showing it.

Any suggestions?

Wodehouse, I had trouble getting the broadcast too, but was finally successful with the KLRK link. Though I did have to try it a couple of times before the game broadcast came on.

Try it again. Good luck!

The Lady Bears win 81-71. Morrow leads the way with 21 points.

All of our thoughts and prayers go out to Morghan and her famiily.

Good win under very tough conditions. Sounds like Oregon played pretty darn well also.

Things don't get any easier tonight as getting from Eugene to Berkeley looks like it might a long, convoluted journey due to the weather.

Apparently no Berkeley...

The Baylor team was stranded in Portland on Sunday after beating Oregon 81-71 on Saturday night in Eugene, and coach Kim Mulkey wasn't sure the Lady Bears would get out until Tuesday or perhaps even Wednesday because of the rare blizzard hitting Western Oregon and Western Washington.

Man, what horrible luck. I was looking forward to the game, of course, but I can't imagine the agony for Morghan. Stuck in Oregon, with no basketball to distract, and no earthly idea when she can get home and see her brother. These days must seem like an eternity for everyone involved.

And ChiBears, sorry about your missing out on both games due to the weather, but looks like you made the right call to skip out on Oregon. And I could think of worse places to end up with a little spare time on my hands than San Fran, so I'm actually a little bit jealous about that :)

... Mulkey said her assistant coaches were at the airport trying to find everybody flights home to Texas or wherever else they might have been going after the Cal game for the holidays.

"My stomach was in knots," Mulkey said by phone. "They were saying it was 10 inches of snow and a layer of ice. Once we realized we weren't getting out, we made a call to Cal to tell them our situation. If we could play it we would, but with conference starting in January it's going to be tough to reschedule....

{Morgan} lives in Pasadena, and her father was going to meet us at the Cal game. Until we know when we'll get out of here she's in limbo," Mulkey said. ...

main thing of course is everyone's safety and I'm glad the Lady Bears aren't trying to force anything, travel-wise. Now the big problem facing them is going to be getting those girls home. The weather itself is a problem but I suspect so will be all the backlog of travelers trying to rearrange their flight plans that got cancelled earlier in the week. We've been checking the flights back to Houston from SF and there are NO open seats on any Continental flights. We already have our seats but were looking to change. THAT won't be happening.

As for enjoying ourselves, yesterday was so nasty we went out and walked a few blocks down to Union Square but couldn't really enjoy it because of sloppy weather. Soooo, we stopped by a small store, grabbed chips, salsa, and cokes and headed back to the hotel to watch football and the Tenn v. Stanford game. A movie in the hotel in the evening rounded out the day.

Today, however, it's clear and as soon as the other ChiBear can finish up all her work calls, we're headed out for a little fun in San Fran. And Scamp, that's exactly what we said to ourselves, if you've got to be stuck somewhere, San Francisco is a pretty good place to be stuck!

Well, here's wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very blessed New Year from the ChiBears on the West Coast. Hope everyone gets their wish for a competitive team this year and can find ways to stay busy until our basketball teams start up again!:)

Latest update as of about an hour ago - The team is on a bus in southern Oregon headed to Oakland to try to catch their originally scheduled flight tomorrow. Kim said they first part of that bus ride out of Portland was as unsettling as any she can ever remember, but they seem to be in safe hands with the bus driver.

Cal wants the game to be made up this year, but that is unlikely. Some or all of the team will have to return to California soon for Morghan's mother's funeral, so rescheduling the game would require a third west coast trip, and Kim didn't feel like that would be a good thing for the team. It will probably be made up next year (which should set up a pretty interesting battle of the large, heralded recruiting classes.)

And Morghan's little brother is en route back to California with an uncle. I'm glad he's back with family, but am especially grateful for Whitney's mom and the others who took him in when no one else could. It's a huge thing to drop all the responsibilities this season requires at the drop of a hat to provide shelter and comfort to a child who's experienced such a trauma, a child they barely knew if at all. Bless them for their selflessness in such a situation.

Thanks for sharing the update, Spooky. Please let us know when they arrive in Oakland, if you hear.

Angels are abundant in this season, and I am so, so thankful for those angels who guide and watch over all of us at this time. May they especially be with Morghan and her brother.
