I didn't even get a chance to listen to the game over the radio http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif But, looking at the stats, you could say OU's free throw shooting won them the game. OU shot a fantastic 81% from the line going 21-26 while Tulsa only hit 9 of 18. Difference in the game right there.

Stats you really don't like: OU shot under 40% for the game, got outrebounded 38-33 and had fewer assists than turnovers 13 to 16. Hmmmm, I think I know exactly how practices may go for the Sooners in the short-term.

On the rebounds: Hill and Jackson had very good rebounding games, but how can Shuknecht play 32 minutes, be the tallest Sooner on the floor and only have 1 rebound. I hope maybe that's because she played a lot on the perimeter. But guess what, so does Jackson and she had 10 rebounds using her small 5'6" frame. Gotta do better!

Overall, great win on the road on a much, much improved Tulsa team. And great to see them come from behind to win as well. Building that poise early for all the young-uns.

I don't know what was going on in the post listening to the radio, though it was rather odd that Shriver didn't pick up a single foul until there were 5 minutes left in the 2nd half.....
and Caton had 4 and Schuknecht eventually fouled out http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/confused.gif

It almost seemed as though the entire OU team in the first 10 minutes of the game had never played basketball on a team http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif....Villarroel would get a steal and finish at the basket, so she had a pretty good start. Finally, Hill started getting in the passing lanes and started getting some rebounds and Welch started providing the offensive spark to get them going......They played a whole lot more "together" the second half.

Coach Coale made a comment over the radio that they were trying too hard and they harder they tried, the more of a hole they dug.
She must have finally been able to calm them down in the locker room at halftime......actually late in the first half.
