Does anybody know anything about Griffin? I hear she has given Tech a verbal already....is that true?

What type of player is she?

Great player right now and has huge potential to be really great. I think she'll be a top 10 player by the time it's time for her to sign.

She can jump out of the gym, (see pic, scroll down), has a wing span like Stacy Stephens, great fundamentals, and runs run the floor like a deer. She reminds me a little of Angie Braziel, but is a lot further along than Angie was as a HS Junior. She'll be a great power forward, faster than Pierson and has much better technique for getting to the hoop. I saw her play several games last summer and she definately had the crowd abuzz. Too bad she's not 6'3.

My sisters team played Seagraves the 2nd game of the season last year and Where KILLED by the Griffin's! They had to triple team Darrice, who ended up with I think 39 of there 62 points! the final score was 62-18 i think and Darrice was unstopable in all aspects of the game, Her rebounding was great,and Her defense was amazing! If she signs to Tech, She will make an IMMEDIATE impact! Robertson, Grant, and Griffin will be unstopable!! If a Team decides to Double team any of them the bench will be deep enough to step up and make big plays!

In a message on this board, Greg Swaim reported that he believes Darrice has given a "soft verbal" (whatever that is) to Texas Tech.

Darrice is #67 overall and the 17th-best underclass (non-senior) player on the Blue Star Top 80 list released a couple of days ago. That is, if nothing changes, Blue Star rates her the 17th best player in the Class of 2004.

Darrice participated in the adidas Top 10 camp this summer. Her performance there got the attention of "All Star Girls Report" -- "POWER FORWARDS: Darrice Griffin is an up and coming athletic star. I think she is going to be a great one."
