Nice to see this game on Big 10 network. Normally I'd always go big 12 vs the little 11, but Billy Fennelly is on the Northwestern coaching staff so I'm hoping they pull it out. I just saw him during a timeout.

Billy is looking good so far. 15-21 NU at about the 7 minute mark. Amy Jaeschke leads NU with 10 and Gipson has 8 for KSU. KSU is having trouble scoring against the Northwestern zone.

KSU has gone on a run to take a 2 point lead 25-23. I think NW is in trouble. Billy is probably having flashbacks to when he was a kid when Bill first got to ISU in terms of the size of the home crowd. I think there is maybe 100 fans in the building.

KSU 25 Northwestern 24 at the half. According to the Kansas State announcers NU has a hard time guarding KSU in man and KSU has a hard time scoring against the NU zone. Also they say KSU got more effective on defense when they forced Amy Jaeschke further out but she is deadly in close.

I know Billy is just the NW director basketball opps, but I'm sure his input on the game plan for KSU is a big reason for NW's success.

I will have to just be happy that KSU is 2-0 on the road to start the year.

Both teams had long dry spells including about 5 minutes by KSU. Northwestern had 50 points with about 4:16 left and got their last two with under a minute.

The KSU radio team credited Shalee with one (or two) more assist than the stat folks did. She is TIED with Megan Mahoney. Hopefully she will get the record at home on Sunday.

K-State really played pretty ugly ball for 38 minutes, then Shalee seemed to feel it was time for a makeover. The last two minutes were very pretty indeed.
