Just got back from UConn's exhibition with the Houston Jaguars. A big night for former Oklahoma Sooner Laneisha Caulfield.
6-for-12 shooting...25 points as Houston climbed back from a 20-point deficit early in the game, and erased a 12 point deficit in the second half to record a 79-73 win.
A more detailed account of the game to follow.
Oh, by the way....Laneisha is also a rather nice young lady http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/wink.gif

I wish that I could have seen the look on LaNeishea's face when the final buzzer went off! I'm so glad that she FINALLY got to beat UConn...such sweet revenge.
I have met 'Neish' on several occasions, and she is a real sweetheart. Very bright, warm and kind. After watching her Wrecking Crew-style defense on the court, I was surprised to find that she is so soft-spoken and sweet! I will miss seeing her play at OU this year, but I am glad that she has recovered from her summer injury and is playing again. Can't wait to see her play again next summer with the Utah Starzz. She's such a fierce competitor...a real inspiration to everyone who watches her play. Good luck, Neish!

ha ha. hilarious. best news i've seen in a long time. I don't care if the whole team were pros, they had just seven players and forced 26 turnovers and fouled the world's alleged greatest out of the game. i love it. more more more!

That's awesome! I bet Stacey Dales-Schuman is so jealous right now. Has to make her feel good, but at the same time I'm sure she wishes this could have been the turnout March 31st!

hahahahahaha..........at least Caufield was on the team that finally beat Connecticut.
Btw, there are at least 2 if not 3 or 4 squads of Houston Jaguars......this one seems to have been playing on the east coast and has had some success.....
Jaguars already have wins over Temple (83-72), Rutgers (72-62), Maryland (82-71) and Providence (77-66) and are already battle tested. They also played well in a loss to talented Villanova (62-54).

Oh what fun for Laneisha and everyone who isn't a UConn Husky fan. Everyone 'knew' UConn would be beatable this year but now they have been beaten. The race is on.

Sooner, There is more than one version of the Jaguars. Are you sure the Caufield led version will be in Lubbock? I know there is at least one other Jaguars team that doesn't have much in marquee talent. I wish they would distinguish between the teams with different names.
I would like to see Tech play this Jaguars team because they sure need some really stiff competition to test various lineups.

soonerman.....you might, I don't know how to find out which squad is playing, but there is a Houston "A" and a Houston "B"..
The "B" team is the one having the most success....They also have Rhonda Jo Miller playing for the "B" squad; she is a deaf girl that tried out for the Washington Mystics.

Toya Ellis was the point guard at Baylor from 96-99. She is in fact the all-time leader in assists at BU.
If I remember correctly, the rest of the Jaguar players, at least on the team that Baylor played, had alot of roots in this area. I recallteams like SFA, Houston, Lamar and some of the dirctional Louisiana schools. Definitely not the same team that beat Uconn.

Anitra Davis played for Stephen F. Austin a few years ago.
LaSonya Conley played at the University of Houston (I think) and at Huston-Tillotson College (Austin) awhile back. I think she came out of high school about the same time as Sheryl Swoopes. Conley's career was interrupted by a knee injury and a stint in the military.
Tracy B. may be a short little guard out of a Texas high school (Conroe perhaps?) that I saw at the Texas Girls' High School Basketball Tournament a few years ago but not sure about that.
