was HORRIBLE. You would think that in a hotbed of women's basketball that the attendance would be better. The same classic with neutral teams(for the 1st game) would have drawn MUCH better in Lubbock, Austin, Manhattan, Ames, Norman and maybe even Waco and Boulder.

Official attendance was 8600, which of course, showed up for the OU/Tenn game. A lot of Big 12 schools would sell out with a game with Tennessee.

Choose two Big XII teams and put it in Dallas and you would sell out both games.

Texas has been struggling with attendance the last couple of years. It remains to be seen whether more success will lead to greater attendance. Plus, the Erwin Center is so huge that attendance looks smaller than it is. A crowd of 4,000 to 5,000 looks like nothing. The arena size is also a factor in Tennessee. Put 8600 in many college arenas and you have a packed arena.
