Gee, I hope that the Swedish team isn't too good. It would be a big morale boost to our young team if they can square off against someone they can clobber. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

(Sure, they got blown out by Tennessee but then there are probably not more than 5 or 6 teams out there who WOULDN'T have been, so they really shouldn't feel bad. They did great during the first half, but when the game started getting away from them , they panicked. Which is just TOO normal for newcomers, right? When Tennessee reached a 15-point lead, our girls just thought, 'We're losing!!!' A more experienced team would think: 'Hey, we're down 15, but we've still got 10 minutes left to play, so lets get out butts in gear and take care of this situation.')

Well, Solna just lost to Tulsa 77-42! Solna is now 0-4

Of course that's a mixed blessing, since Tulsa is the next team we play.

There aren't too many of these foreign teams that are competitive. The one from Australia a couple of years ago that OU played was one of the few I've seen. So many teams are now playing exhibitions against "basketball clubs".....meaning comprised of former DI and WNBA players, those seems to be more competitive than international teams.

I really think we will see everyone play for OU.

Here's one of those teams that's having success beating DI teams, and look who's on their team http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

STORRS -- Some very familiar faces will take the court for an exhibition game tonight as the UConn women host the Houston Jaguars at Gampel Pavlion.
Guard Laneisha Caufield lost twice to UConn last season, the second time in the national championship game as the Huskies beat Caufield's Oklahoma Sooners to cap off an undefeated championship season.

And she's not the only familar face, either. Former Louisiana Tech guard Tamicha Jackson (Portland Fire of the WNBA) is another one. So is former Syracuse forward Leigh Aziz. Former South Carolina guard Shaunzinski Gortman is currently teammates on the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx with former UConn standouts Tamika Williams and Svetlana Abrosimova.

With a trio of WNBA vets leading the Jaguars, the Huskies face a significantly tougher test than they did in their 81-48 exhibition opening win over the Melbourne Tigers. The Jaguars already have wins over Temple (83-72), Rutgers (72-62), Maryland (82-71) and Providence (77-66) and are already battle tested.

They also played well in a loss to talented Villanova (62-54).
