Wow, she looked like a totally different person. It looks like she has lost quite a bit of weight, and now she actually looks athletic!!!! In Sunday's exhibition game vs. the West Coast All-Stars Morse had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and played the entire game. Even more surprising was that Katie was actually jumping off the floor, and she caught everything that was thrown her way.

Looks like somebody worked hard in the off season. I really didn't even recognize her, she looked so much more sleek and athletic than last year.

Way to go Katie!! And not to be overlooked, Margaret Richards' conditioning looked 100% better than last year. Maybe soem of these girls have actually decided to work hard in practice and the offseason.

I don't know what was more surprising..
1. The new look Katie Morse w/ new and improved skill
2. The new attitude Margaret Richards w/ conditioning
3. Jina J actually taking shots
4. Or seeing a Nebraska womens' basketball team actually enjoying playing basketball

All I heard Sunday from the people around me, was 'Well, she (Yori) at least has them playing hard and having fun'

For an exhibition game, I really enjoyed myself on Sunday, and as Chipper stated in another post, the days of Nebraska Womens' Basketball teams quitting, whining, and going through the motions may very well be over.

Go Huskers!!!

I think she is getting some positive reinforcement and encouragement from Coach Yori and her staff and its done wonders for her self esteem and confidence. I think the talent is there and she just needs to believe in herself. If Morse plays up to these standards on a consistent basis, the Huskers will receive a big 6'4" lift and things maybe won't be as bleak as once thought. Good to hear that the effort is there.

Now this makes me smile. A Nebraska team I can actually like!!!

Next step? Keep it up, and maybe talk some Volleyball and Softball players into the mix, too.

Katie Morse getting aggressive? I love it, but she teased us last year with a strong start, and faltered. So did Margaret Richards.

Cautiously optimistic, here. But this sounds like some ConnieBall. May not be the most talented team, but we won't be a candypants team. That I like!
