Once again I find myself doubting their predictions. They typically get things screwed up. Who is Maloney on KSU's team? And when did Iowa State become the Hawkeyes?! The Big 12 Tournament was not that long ago and I remember during one of the games how Baylor held a good lead while both Lambert and Crockrom were on the bench. WCH will be very surprised by Baylor's success this year. You have to give coach Kim and her staff a great deal of credit. She is truly one of the best. Coach Kim will have a young team that will challenge each team in the conference. There will be some really big upsets before the tournament in Dallas. Again, I can't wait for conference play. Fan attendance will continue to grow in the BIG XII!

I'm with you, Zo. I enjoy reading the material at WCH.com, but covering every team in the nation like they try to do is a daunting task. They obviously have not done any in-depth research on the Longhorns this year. No mention of the addition of Carey to the backcourt, who will likely be the starting point guard, not Norman. He also states that the Longhorns will slow it down this year to take advantage of their strength in the paint, but the early indications out of Austin are exactly the opposite. With a healthy Hastings, Dillard, and Reed along with the additions of Norman and Cobbins, the 'Horns will look to run and use their quickness at every opportunity.
I agree with him on his assessment of OU, I think the Sooners will be much better than their early-season rankings indicate. I agree that underestimating KMR and BU is a dangerous proposition. Did you notice the comment on Dionne Brown being a transfer from Georgetown and Texas Tech. I wonder if he thinks she played at Georgetown University? Dionne is from the town of Georgetown, TX.
Fun stuff to read, but if you want the best info on the Big XII, Hoopscoop is the place to be!

I agree with WCH for the most part. I think BU should be rated a little higher, but overall it's a pretty good preseason ranking IMO.
ESPN analysts seem to agree with the coaches, media and WCH on this one...

As usual, I like Voepel the best.....at least she lives somewhere in the vicinity that she knows what she's talking about http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif I absolutely love her article....and found out what Maria's nickname needs to be....
At Big 12 media day, Coale said the pronunciation of Villarroel was "bee-zhah-rowel.'' Or something like that. We're thinking just "Speedy V'' will do.
As for WCH, they are based in Connecticut, as if Connecticut needed another media-related source http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
