Verbal to OU or just verbal to someone?

Sure hope OU, carolann, have no idea and those Notre Dame fans have certainly been no help http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif I've read from those same ND fans that she did not have good visits at OU or Maryland and is between ND, Ohio State and Duke........????who knows.

Don't be surprised if it's Duke; she just visited there this weekend with Brittany Hunter.

I think it's looking really good for Notre Dame and Bales. Can't imagine Duke would sign two highly rated post players in the same class, actually I can't imagine the two recruits would both sign at Duke. I thought Hunter hadn't had her Texas visit yet? I threw in the Sherwood information because Colorado is still in the mix and these three are the "top-rated" post players left to verbal (that I'm aware of). I think it's starting to look like this:
Sherwood.....UConn
Bales......Notre Dame
Hunter....Duke

Brittany Hunter, a 6-3 forward who is one of the top prospects in the women's basketball Class of 2003, narrowed her list of colleges to Connecticut and Duke. Hunter, who averaged 19.6 points and 14 rebounds as a junior at Brookhaven High in Columbus, Ohio, informed Tennessee coach Pat Summitt, Texas coach Jody Conradt and Harvard coach Kathy Delaney-Smith of her decision to eliminate their schools from consideration Tuesday night.

Liz Sherwood, a 6-4 forward/center from Castle Rock, Colo., is holding steady at four schools. Sherwood, a teammate of UConn freshman Ann Strother at Highlands Ranch (Colo.) High, will choose between Connecticut, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame and Colorado.

"I'm still going through things," said Sherwood, who averaged 20 points, 10.5 rebounds and eight blocks as a junior at Highlands Ranch. "In the end, I will just go with my gut (feeling)."

Tiffany Jackson is another excellent post player that has yet to commit. Texas is still in the running for Jackson, although Hunter has reportedly narrowed her choices down to Duke and UCONN. Here's the link: http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=5897115&BRD=1281&PAG=461&dept_id=7585&rfi=6

Jackson is said to be considering Texas, Tennessee, and LSU. Here's hoping she choses Texas!

Hmmmm, this "center" recruiting race is getting interesting.

UConn seems pretty confident with Hunter....so that might leave Sherwood chosing Notre Dame and Bales picking Duke....

not sure that either UConn or Notre Dame would sign two highly rated post players.

Or Bales could always get out of the dogfight and come to http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/ou.gif
She's a "big" girl, and to my knowledge, the only center OU is recruiting.

I'm not familiar enough with what Tennessee and LSU are recruiting to know about Jackson.

Just listened to the archived version. Very enjoyable. Greg seems to know enough that the show will likely be interesting all season long. The questions had some meat to them. It wasn't all superficial gloss. Nice Big 12 flavor to it. Gotta love that! This conference, far and away, has the largest fan base, so it makes sense.

Coach Barry made some interesting observations about the shift in recruiting from high school to AAU clubs, and about the increasingly significant role of the media in the game. Coach Conradt offered a nice perspective on the history of the sport and the cumulative improvement of competition in programs around the country.

It's been posted on the Boneyard that Hunter is going to Duke.
another poster, who is thought to be her dad, has confirmed this.
Should be official soon.

wow, so much for "rumors" and that 90/10 chance of Hunter going to UCONN.

by the talk on the boneyard and the ESPN board, life has ended for UConn.........

hope I never feel this way about one recruit. Sure I would have loved Bales come to OU, but things are not looking so good for that to happen. But, if she doesn't think that this is the best place for her, then she doesn't need to be here.

Looks like Sherwood has verballed to Connecticut.....

are they trying to re-assemble Highland Ranch High School?
First, Strother, then Sherwood and there is some talk of Powers at UConn (who I think is another classmate of the two).

With Brittany Hunter apparently committed to Duke and Liz Sherwood to UCONN, we also hear Alison Bales has narrowed her choices to Duke, Maryland, Notre Dame or Oklahoma (Vandy, Ohio st, Texas gone).

wow, maybe OU is still in the mix...... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif She took Vanderbilt and Texas off her list some time ago when it came time for final official visits, but Ohio State taken off is a new one.
