I haven't seen much here about Nina Norman.
I had a chance to see her play in the OK-TX All Star game and she was terrific. A real scrapper with a nice shot and great passes. She and Grant were comparing notes from time to time and seem to be enjoying each other.

So, that do the UT faithful have to say about Nina?

I only saw her play at McDonald's AA game, and was impressed with her quickness and slashing ability.

Here's a link to a Q&A:

We're very excited about Nina Norman.

Texas is blessed with point guard talent this year. Both Nina Norman and Tamra Cobbins are physically talented and have a lot of skills. At the same time, I think both of our freshmen point guards will benefit from the ability to learn from junior transfer Jamie Carey this year. Carey is a fundamentally sound player with 'leadership' oozing out of every pore.

I've only seen 2 practices and Norman had to be held out of some drills during one of the practices due to a minor injury. One sees Nina's athleticism and shooting skills quickly. She is quick, strong, and able to shoot the ball, penetrate, or pass. She has the potential to be an explosive scorer. Perhaps because she was relied on for so much scoring in highschool, Norman may need to improve her ball handling to be a topnotch pointguard. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nina Norman at the two and Tamra Cobbins at the point in a couple of years. Tamra Cobbins is small, probably about 5'5, and very, very, quick. She looks like a heady point guard -- heads up, strong, well-placed passes, and a good shooting touch when needed. I'm not sure she likes to shoot the three the way both Jamie Carey and Nina Norman do.
