Saw on another board that Natasha Lacy from El Paso may have committed to TCU. Has anyone seen or heard anything about this?

How many 'ships does TCU have this year? Didn't they sign a large class last year, as well.

Another talented, atheltic guard to TCU?!! I went to the TCU website and did a roster count. I only see 3 scholarships for next year. Of course something may have changed that is not reflected yet on the roster. Lacy would make the 4th reported committment.

Regardless, it look likes TCU will have another talented, athletic recruiting class with repoted committments from JimAnne Baker (G), Adrianne Ross (G), Jenna Lohse (C). I read on womenscollegehoops and the TCU website that Jeff Mittie is only 36 years old and has already been highly successful at smaller division schools. It will be interesting to see what he can do now at Div I with these type of recruits.

Mittie's biggest coup in my mind was landing Sandor Irvin out of Florida; I understood he beat out Tennessee for her services.

Of course, I also heard that her uncle, Michael Irvin, living in the area had a lot to do with it.

With a potential 16 on the roster next season, perhaps Mitte could loan Yori some players, otherwise the bench will be pretty full.

It is interesting that speculation about why Ross would not consider Texas Tech was because the guard position would be crowded her freshman year. Tech would have 5 senior guards that would be graduating that year, plus 2 non-graduating point guards. TCU would have 4 guards on their roster for the 2003-04 season, with 2 of those being seniors. Going into her soph season, Ross would be competing for time with the same number and class of competition at both schools.

Doesn't she want to play PG all the time? I think she's a Jia type player and could play any spot, but who knows what these kids have running through their head. From the sound of her comments to the press, she wasn't getting the love she needed from Tech, but they remained on her short list. Maybe they were not willing to promise her what she wanted to hear?

How is the assistant coach at TCU closing the deal? Did he guarantee something to Ross that Baylor or Tech would not promise?

Better facilities?
Friendlier teammates?
Coaches who are *FUN*?
Playing time?
TV time?
Fan support?
Dressing in purple?
Conference?
Travel?
Fancier letterhead?
Luxury dorm rooms?
Tastier dessert in the cafeteria?
