Ditto! Come on :UT:

nice article from Voepel (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/ncaatourney08/columns/story?columnist=voepel_mechelle&id=3307694&campaign=rsssrch&source=mechelle_voepel)

Gail Goestenkors will never look this relatively relaxed before an NCAA tournament again.

She said Saturday that it has been, "One of my most rewarding seasons."

The Horns did not have much cohesion, leadership or toughness by the end of last season. It was a lot of kids all going in different directions. That's one of the things Goestenkors had to change. She needed to build trust.

She's a head coach who has always sweated the details and handled a ton of responsibility herself. Especially in terms of how each player's development needed to be unique to that player. Goestenkors has spent a great deal of time this season monitoring how every Longhorn has progressed on and off the court.

So Texas comes into this NCAA tournament in learning-and-growing mode, and that's why Goestenkors doesn't need to feel stressed. Every bit of this experience will be good for her players, all but one of whom -- senior Erneisha Bailey -- return next season.

Minnesota did beat ISU 69-61 at the Barn December 21. They also beat Louisville for their top wins imho. Most of their best games were at home, but that is not unusual I guess. They did wind up third in the B-11 and have a good rpi so they should not be a pushover. Double G has the Horns coming together at the right time and its clear the Horns have played a LOT better league competition. I am feeling VERY good about the Longhorns chances.

GO TEXAS! GO Big 12!

I was at the Barn a few weeks ago and I saw Minnesota lose to Wisconsin when Emmy Fox missed a jumper at the buzzer. It was a really good, competitive game, and Fox was extremely impressive. She was able to score from everywhere, all the time. In that particular game, she got almost no offensive support from her teammates, and Jolene Anderson on the other side countered her almost point for point. If some of their other players step up and Fox has a good game, they can be tough.

(By the way, from the outside it really does sort of resemble a barn.)

Ashley Lindsey just posted her 4th block.

Emily Fox is the sport stacking world champion.

Why did ESPN go back to Tennessee when there are some competitive games going on?...
Pat must have a timer set so they get as much game time as Connecticut did? No conspiracy there.

po.....not smart foul, Texas. They have 10 fouls with 5 minutes to play.

I expected Texas to win this one comfortably, and nothing's changed my mind. If anything, I think they'll extend the lead in the second half.

If that was the case - and I think it was - then especially if Carmargo suffered a serious injury I believe a lawsuit should be in order. It's the responsibility of others to ensure that players are not exposed to unnecessary chance of injury, and in this case the injured party would be within her rights to sue the University of Tennessee. Their cheerleaders know quite well that all props are to be stowed away behind the players, and not in front.

They showed the video again at the start of the second half.... and they had to weasle even on that!!! It was obvious to me that she stepped on one of the cheerleader's signs (there were about 3 or 4 of them laying on the floor WAY too close to the baseline!!), her right foot slid out from under her and then she fell.

But to the announcers it wasn't clear ...well maybe she hurt her knee before she lost her footing by slipping on the sign, maybe the signs really had nothing to do with her injury blahblahblah. Give me a break. The Tenn cheerleaders carelessness caused a potentially serious injury to ORU's best player.... admit it ESPN announcers!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't get the games on TV you may be able to watch on ESPN 360 online if your ISP carries that service.

I've watched the entired UT game that way and then cut to the games I wanted to see during timeouts. And you can set it to see in a mini screen which other games are also showing commercials so you chose to go to a game that has action.

When the SEC had 8 (of 12) teams in the tournament in 2002, they went 6-2 in the first round. Losers were 6-seed Florida (to BYU, at Hilton), and 10-seed Georgia (to 7-seed ODU, in West Lafayette; ODU made the Elite Eight that year by beating Kansas State).
