If you are frustrated with the inadequacies of the Big 12’s web site for women’s basketball, please join me in sending an email message to the masters of the site. Ask for the things you would like to see on the conference’s official site for women’s basketball. You never know. We just might get them. Here is my letter. I know some of you will think of more and say it better than I can.
--------------------------------------------------------
I am very disappointed in the Big 12 website for women's basketball. The Big 12 is the premier conference for women's basketball in the nation and it should have the most informative site on the web.
The prior site updated the standings daily as well as the comprehensive stats on season and conference only games. There were historical statistics from prior seasons. There was data on the Big 12's history in the NCAA tournament by team. There were Adobe .pdf files of the conference prospectus and year to date data about the success of Big 12 teams. There was information on the progress of the Million Fan promotion. There were listings of TV games and a comprehensive weekly schedule of the Big 12 teams in action.
My wish list: I can find rosters on the team's websites, so that is not a critical feature for the conference site. I can find the national polls which are updated weekly on other websites. What I want from the conference website is a listing of the conference statistic leaders for team and individual categories that are updated daily. And the stats shouldn't be listed by category as separate links to different windows. It is very inefficient to go into each separate window to see stats one category at a time. Please list all of the stats on one page that can be scrolled to view them all without changing windows. I would like to see a comprehensive conference schedule. I also wish there were TV listings.
I would think media representatives would check this site often for information about upcoming games and to see how teams and individual players are doing. Especially media from the east and west coasts who don't cover the Big 12 regularly. The Big 12 web site needs to have the necessary information to carry the conference’s message that Big 12 women's basketball is some of the best in the nation. Please improve it soon, the season is almost half over!
