Is it me or have I just found ABSOLUTELY no credibility in WBBALLZ? It is clearly just a bias person's opinion of what womens college ball is all about. And to top it off, they are a UCONN fan... http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I couldn't agree more........it's easy to see the bias they have over certain teams and the Big XII is not a favorite of theirs.

When I read the topic, I just knew you were referring to the Big 12 conference site.
Did they move it again in the past week? The stats are non-existent and the standings haven't been updated in a week.
Is this any way to run a premier conference?
re wbballz... its simple, OU must win. They must treat this like a NC game, the superbowl, World Series game 7. They must win or the arrogance, perhaps justified, will continue. (Exception noted for Bark who appears to be a reasonable fellow.)

Yah! No kidding DblT81. I had the same thought as you. Come on EX-eye-eye. Lets get it together. I don't like being embarrassed by my own conference's site.

Doesn't look good to me. Since they changed, the Big 12 historical info has not been added. As of noon today they do not have any season to date stats posted. The standings are a week and a half old. Example Baylor has 11 wins not 9, etc. At least they could update the standings every day. There are no archived articles like there were on the old site.
Is there an easy way to contact someone that may have some control over the Big12 website? I would like to complain. Could it be that it is maintained by students and they are out for Christmas?

Would like to let everyone know, now that the holidays are here, I will be able to institute some updates to the website. Among them will be a new column on the home page reflecting updated standings, player-of-the-weeks, and current rankings.
HoopScoop.net already maintains it's own stats database.
Plus we will be getting the Hoopla! game off the ground next week.
If anyone can think of other things to be added, let me know.

Kate Dawg I agree with DblT for all the reasons she stated plus others including:
1. The scoreboard is still "coming soon"
2. Clicking on "Statistics" gets you a repeat of conference standings or "Game Summaries" which is still "currently unavailable"
3. The "Schedule" tells me that Kansas is playing St. Joseph's in Philadelphia at 7am on December 29 and is also playing Morgan State in Baltimore MD at 7am on December 29. It also tells me that KSU is playing Loyola Maramount in Los Angeles on the 30th. Nice try big XII. KSU is playing Georgia State in the Loyola Christmas Tournament in Baltimore, MD on the 29 at noon. KSU will then play either Loyola MD or American on December 30. Loyola Maramount is NOT on KSU's schedule. Those are just examples (not all) of errors that jumped out to me in about five minutes.
4. "National Polls" repeatedly loads a blank page
5. The "Photo Gallery" still has a nice picture of Toccara Williams. That's it!
6. The "News Archive" is a better front page than the front page. I'm not sure why they use the one they do.
On top of that the site loads slowly. In short, if I want old inaccurate information about the Big XII, the conference site is a good place to go. I am sure they are working on it and it will get better but sheesh! get on with it. We are getting into the heart of the season and we have national attention on us NOW. If we were going to screw up our site AND be leisurely about getting it back up to speed it should have been done in the off season.

Commissioner, none of my comments reflect on this site. This site ROCKS. Thanks for providing it!

Zo31, you bring up another good point. I looked for a feedback provision on the site but if its there I missed it. I did email Kansas State a couple of days ago about the Big XII site. I am remiss in not tracking down someone to give feedback to at the Big XII.

The site is maintained by "infinityProsports.com" for the Big XII. You can email them by clicking on the "infinityProsports" button in the lower left corner of the screen and then clicking on the "contact us" button on in the upper right of the screen that comes up. I haven't found a Big XII contact on the site. I have contacted infinity, can't hurt.
One has to assume that this is a commercial company and not based at a university using students. They also maintain sites for minor league professional teams. I haven't seen any more improvements yet. We can hope.

Aggies. Now we know. The only sport aggies are interested in is football. This is why the only photo on the gallery page is Tocarra Williams.
On the Infinity web site, the only collegiate client listed is the the 12thFan website for Aggie fans. The Big 12 site is not even mentioned as a client....the Utah Bikini team is mentioned.
We will be lucky now to get updated standings and occasional current stories on the women's basketball site. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif
I cannot believe the Big 12 did this. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/frown.gif

ok, perhaps we should all send them an email and let them know that there truly are women's basketball fans who would appreciate knowing what's going on around the Big XII......
maybe they need to be knocked out of football world...heck, I can keep up with both, they should be able to also http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
uh oh.....I just checked the site and it's gotten worse, now they have football pictures.....guess they wanted to make sure we don't forget:

Well heck, look on the bright side, at least we hear there are basketball fans in Israel.
Seriously, the fact that my Big XII conference is letting this site represent us in this condition bugs me. My organization has its own website with only two people who designed and operate it. If they had discontinued a site that was functioning well, even though it could be improved, BEFORE getting the new site up and running properly, they would no longer work for me. In no way, however, would they have done so, they have too much professional pride for that. The deed is done however, and I just hope they get on with fixing it. Thank God (and his helpers in Norman) we have HoopScoop so that we can get info and stats presented in a first class way. Pity the uninformed who don't know about HoopScoop.

Thanks KSUron. It's kind of wierd that we are still dealing with website problems and its practically 2002. I started this site (before it became known as HoopScoop.net) back in June 1996 because there was NO coverage of Big 12 women's basketball on the internet. Sports sites in general have remained way behind the curve in website development and the use of a website to market their entity. Only ESPN really started to utilize its website to its betterment a few years ago.
I have so many more things that I would like to do here, but I do have a day job. But, even with just something like Interactive Stats, can you ever imagine the official Big 12 site ever doing that? They have a hard enough time doing the incredibly simple things like giving you up-to-date standings. I let them do that for me last year. Guess I'll have to go back to maintaining my own set of standings.
And then come time for the Big 12 Tournament they hang this giant banner up telling people to go to big12sports.com. If I had half the ability to market this site like the Big 12 can market their own site, then this could be an amazing place where literally thousands of Big 12 fans could interact. Sigh.....
But, I already consider my original idea to be a big success. It's fantastic that I can ask other fans questions about their teams and receive back answers that I could never get anywhere else. That alone makes this so worthwhile!
Continue trying to get the word out! We still lack info from fans at Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M.
