Update #6
October 9, 12:55pm
From a trusted source: Allison Bales, one of the top post recruits, out of Beavercreek HS in Dayton, Ohio has narrowed her choices to Duke, Maryland, Notre Dame, Ohio State
and Oklahoma. (Vanderbilt and Texas are off her list).

I think I read that Bales' official visit to OU will be the weekend of the Iowa State game, October 19......the same day as the "Baseline Bash"....so we should get a peep at her. I think there is also another recruit coming in that day.

I haven't seen anything connecting Bales to Texas in a long time so I'm not surprised or disappointed as a Longhorn fan. She'll be a great signing for someone though.

oops.....Brandie Hoskins is coming the following weekend, not the same weekend.

I agree, CarolAnn......isn't Kalee Carey a center committed to Texas?

Thanks swok; I knew I had heard Hoskins' name so I went to Sibyl's site.
I forgot to say on my original post that I was sort of surprised to see OU still on Bales' list. I thought I had seen elsewhere that they were pretty far down on her list. Hmmm, I guess she'll be easy to spot at the Baseline Bash. She'll be the tall one. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

For anyone else wondering, here's her info:

Some folks think Hoskins will sign with Duke......of course, that all depends upon what Tiffany Jackson decides....I think she picks Texas......Jackson, that is.

I don't think OU has a shot at Bales....haven't heard a whole lot about Hoskin's and who she likes. Of course, we won't know until the big lady sings http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

I've been reading the Notre Dame board the last few days, and they think they want both Bales AND Sherwood.....greedy ones....but, Bales all but seems to live at Notre Dame, she's attended quite a few of the football games and apparently, her high school has quite a fan following and the thinking is....she'll land closer to home.

Re: Carey
Yes, Kalee Carey is a verbal committment. I've seen her listed as 6'4 or 6'5. She has size, talent, and can run the floor pretty well.

IMO, Texas has a lot of talent for the next couple of years. With Carey committed, Texas can afford to 'go for broke' with their remaining scholarhips.

Re: Bales, Hoskins Tiffany Jackson, & Recruiting in General
You're right, SWOK. We NEVER know until the big lady sings. "It's not over 'til it's over." Thus I am trying not to pay to much attention to every Tiffany Jackson rumor.

Bales was best high school post player I've seen, that as a soph. Outstanding feel and delivery around the bucket, quick outlet passer. Whoever gets her should have great shot at Elite 8, she's that good.

I guess the games I saw her play this summer at AAU nationals she was off because I wasn't very impressed. She's tall alright, but she kept hanging out at the ft line looking to shoot from outside or pass down low. She didn't look like she wanted to bang down low at all. When you're her height, I would want her planted under that basket. I know AAU games are not always the best in seeing what they can do, but she just didn't show me much at all. I'm sure with the right system and good coaching she'll be a great D1 player.
