Primed for a title run, Stoops makes sure team's success rubs off on rest of Oklahoma's programs

This is an article about OU's resurgence in college athletics, referring primarily to football, but also mentions both basketball teams and coaches. It's in the LA Times, which is a register site. Someone copied/pasted the article on the OUinsider board, which I'll link to for those interested who don't want to register.

Interesting points about the relationship between coaches of different sports. It does certainly seem like OU has a system that works. I've seen Coach Sampson at football games, and Coach Stoops at OU WBB games. Stoops meets recruits of other sports.

My favorite quote:
Castiglione preached patience and told his coaches not to be satisfied with a short-term fix. Sampson and Coale have since been rewarded with identical lavish practice facilities built adjacent the Lloyd Noble Center.
What more could Coale want?
"I could use a post player," she said.

It's a good read for OU fans and sports fans in general.

Great read. Indeed, it's a wonderful time to be a Sooner. Oh, and lets annihilate Tulsa tonight!!! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Very good. Thanks for sharing Jennifer. As usual "I could use a post player" Coale has a great line. The woman is always impressive.

Now about that REEEE-dic-ulous Gator visor Stoops wears. (Ok, it may be that as an old Miami Hurricane I can't stand anything associated with Steve Spurrier)

President Jon Wefald and Bill Snyder at K-State are also VERY supportive of Wildcat Women's Basketball and it does help. Its great to see the cooperation and support between sports. More power to the Sooners (except when they play K-State or Nebraska).

That's right! I remember how impressed I was seeing Snyder at the KSU Women's games at the Big XII tournament in Kansas City!
