Alicia Thompson was one of the finest Lady Raiders ever.
If you saw the movie "The Rookie" this summer about the true story of an older high school coach that made it to the big leagues to pitch for Tampa Bay on a dare from his HS baseball team-that was Alicia Thompson's high school and her home town featured in that movie.
Alicia Thompson
First Team All-American- Kodak, USBWA 1998
First round draft choice of NY Liberty 1998
Big 12 Player of the Year 1998
Led the B12 in scoring in 1997 and 1998

Holds the B12 records* for:

*These records are from the B12 record book through 2001. The records I could see that might be at risk of changing after 2002 would be rebounds/gm avg season and career (Angie Welle), points in season Thompson drops to 7th for 1997 (Angie Welle 676 2002), fgs/season Thompson drops to 6th for 1997 (Lambert 253 2002).

It is too bad that knee problems ended her career prematurely. Here is an article from earlier this year about what her future plans might include.
