As for Lehning, she kind of sums up the Wildcats right now. She’s not as big as you are, but she beats you to a board, she’s not as fast as you are, but she beats you to a spot and she’s not as good a defender as you are, but she defends you better than you defend her. That’s exactly what the Wildcats are like right now. While they may not have a single player on this squad as good as Kendra Wecker, they’ve got solid scorers at every spot on the floor right now and have better range than any team in the Big 12. 77-75....KSU...And they earned it. They executed better..and they won the one-on-one matchups..We didn't win enough of them.

Just another boring night in the Big 12. ;)

Tough loss for Nebraska. The Husker team fought hard and no one could get or at least keep much separation in this game.

Some random observations:
Vonnie Turner is a keeper. She is about to be a handfull for a lot of us.

Nebraska's front court is strong and smart.

The Wildcats just keep digging and making plays, never mind Gipson has four fouls, never mind the Coach hands Nebraska four points on tech fouls and gets tossed, never mind that Nebraska keeps coming at them hard. They just keep playing their game and working on both ends of the floor.

I may have to stay home next year and just read the box scores. My heart and tummy can't take much more of these boring games.

Waylon, just take the loss and wish the Wildcats well. I watched parts of that game and then the remaining part towards the end after the OU Women's game concluded. It was electric and Beasley is the real deal.

I speak from experience on times like these. They're very hard to suck it up and take. Afterall, we once held a 19 year dominance over the OSU Cowboys in football. The year SmellsofBurbon was our coach was the year they finally won and it was in Norman. I was so upset inside. Not for just losing the game, but also b/c the terrible coaching of our Captain Kangaroo or Colonel Sanders look-a-like coach we had, which he ended up only lasting a year.

I was a lot younger back then and used to growing up as a Switzer kid......winning championships. I ended up leaving my OSU friend at the game and walking back to my apartment as I didn't want to face the defeat. It gets better with time and maturity. You learn to take a loss in stride.

Both Baylor and Kansas State have got it going on with both Women's and Men's basketball programs; and this is one Sooner that is very happy for them all.

Oh, and did I mention my Sooners walked into the FEC and knocked off the Bears on the road last weekend? Sorry, just had to throw that one in there. See Waylon, it does get better. Just cut out the pettiness and take the high road wishing them well. Same thing for whomever is calling the Lady Red Raiders "thugs." Uncalled for.

Looks like tonight was the night for some of our B12 TV contracts to have picked up a couple of these games, esp. the 'Horns/Bears & 'Cats/'Huskers. I'm upset I didn't get to see these barn burners.

I am, without a doubt, one of the strongest supporters of Shalee Lehning that anyone will find. I love the girl and not just because she can play ball but because she is an amazing person. I had to laugh when Coatney & Co. said she was called on a T. I know it was a confusing situation, but I don't think that Shalee has ever had a T and I cannot imagine her getting one. She will plead her case to the officials but always in a respectful manner. Her facial expressions, on the other hand, may get her a T someday as she tends to give this look that Brian Smoller calls her "what kind of an idiot are you?" look.

Back to my point... while Shalee's numbers were huge last night, I felt like she had to fight harder than ever to get those numbers. The defense she faced was unreal and she was not allowed to make the spectacular passes that she is known for. Her six assists is actually low.... Nebraska kept her contained better than any team I've seen yet. She still scored a bunch but a lot of that was from the line (thank you Shalee for improving your free throw shooting so dramatically!) and then six points came from two treys and we all know Shalee is not known for being a three-point threat. Maybe that is changing....

All in all, I am SO proud of our Wildcat women and I cannot wait until Saturday's matchup with Baylor. Watch for me in the crowd; I'll be wearing purple and standing up hooting and hollering!
