GREAT game for the Lady Raiders before Christmas!

Jia led the way with 19 pts.
Cisti had 5 blocks

Still waiting for the box score, but Amber had 3 threes 11 pts., Natalie Ritchie had 2 threes 8 pts., Freshman LaTosha Daniels had a three (it was our only one of the 1st half), Jolee had 9 pts. and 5 assists, Halftime score was 21-19 Tech. The LR went on a big run (10-13 pts.) at around 12:00 to go. That put the game away as the Lady Raiders scored 41 pts. and had only 4 TO against a very good defensive minded Rutgers team. Overall I think this is a quality win because RU plays a 2-3 zone which forces many opponents into bad shots, but Tech pulled it and put their own solid defense against RU. Way to go Ladies!

It was a particularly good win because Casey Jackson was held out because of a swollen knee and Dionne Brown didn't play because she had a bad case of stomach flu. Jolee really stepped up and had a good solid game when she was most needed. Kari Jo had another good game, too. For several minutes at the end of the first half, the three guards on the floor were Kari Jo, Candice White and LaTosha Daniels.

Great example of Tech's depth tonight. Three players that were starters at the beginning of the season didn't suit up, Pierson, Jackson and Brown and Tech still pulls out the win. First career start for Greenwalt. This was Tech's 9th game and I'm guessing they have had about 8 different starting lineup combinations.

What an ugly offensive first half! A couple of Tech's players had 2 fouls early and had to sit. So the other freshmen came in and filled in fine.

I like Simmons. She is making some freshman turnover mistakes, but she has this spark when she comes in the game. Plays hard. I can see why Sharp is giving her some minutes.

Vandy's up next. Yikes!!!

Hope Jackson's knee is OK.
