KSUron

KSU just won the game. I Belive the score was 79-63 but the game was closer than that for much of the way. KSU got serious and pulled away late. For the second straight game Laurie Koehn struggled from long range as did all the KSU shooters tonight. It may have had something to do with the location and conditions for the game. It was played in the Walkup Skydome (an indoor dome used for Northern Arizona Football games). As I hear it the floor is out in the middle of this great big field with nothing anywhere near around it. In addition, there was almost no one in attendance. You could easily hear individual coaches and players shouting instructions from the bench. There was very little other sound. It must have been a little weird to the young KSU players.
Kristen Rethman (a senior for heaven's sake) started her first game of the year. Patterson shifted her line up due to the absence of Chelsea Domenico who has been operated on for her wrist problem and was not with the team. Koehn shifted over to the point from her usual 2 guard spot and Kristen played the 2. The rest of the line up was the usual suspects. Mahoney at 3, Wecker at 4 and Ohlde at 5.
KSU got out to an early lead and then just could do nothing right for a while. Northern Arizona even lead at one point. The good news is that they are still finding a way to get it back together even when everything is going wrong. I never thought the Wildcats were in really serious trouble but you don't like to see them let another ream get back in the game, especially on the road.
