Yori Adds Another Former Head Coach to the NU Staff

Former Davidson head coach John Filar has joined the staff. That means NU has the former Creighton, UNK, and Davidson head coaches all on board. It sounds like Filar might handle a lot of the recruiting responsibilities. It's good NU finally completed the core of their staff, the longer the team and coaches are together the better they will be.

On a more positive note, his last few years were all winning seasons, something we'd love to have at NU. I also found out that Filar helped Davidson reel in a top 15 recruiting class in 1998. These facts may not be that impressive, but winning and recruiting at a small D1 school is not easy. I think he was a good fit for Connie's staff, but we'll have to wait and see if I'm right.

That he is. Another coach who has almost won games.

I hope this group negotiated some Soviet contracts. It looks like this will take a 5-year plan.
I'd be more comfy with Filar if he would have mixed in a Southern Conference Championship or two.

Oh by the way, he's #15 recruiting class in 1998. Two straight losing seasons when those kids were junior and seniors.
