Chamique is back and scoring 20-30 ppg and the Mystics have lost 5 straight. I know that Dales-Schuman and Asjah Jones aren't being as productive as they were at the beginning of the season...but what gives??

I don't know, but Stacey, Chamique, and Vicky Bullett are going to be on the cover of TV Guide on August 10th.

The announcers were discussing that theme at the Liberty v. Sol game tonight. They speculated it was probably a combination of weariness and perhaps some nerves due to suddenly realizing they were leading the pack. Sort of like suddenly realizing you are winning a match or game no one expected you to win.

with their newfound prowess and their ultra-tough first half schedule, combined with the injuries they've had, the rookies they rely upon, and the surprisingly good performance from a couple of their vets, I think they've hit a wall.

The Mystics will snap out of it before the playoffs, though. They ought to at least get to the east final.

Dales-Schuman has been looking beat up lately, and her offensive production has gone into the toilet.

This team is still learning what it takes to win. The fact that they led from day one until now shows that they are finding their way.

Stacey said she plans on hitting the weights big-time before next season. The vets have just been beating her up all season long.

I heard from a Mystics fan that the doc's wanted Stacey OUT for 5 days to recover from some sort of virus and she said no way.

I don't think they are meshing as a team with Holdsclaw back....
and if Holdsclaw could learn to pass the ball AGAIN when she is quadruple-teamed, it would help matters greatly. They just aren't playing team ball; both Coco and Stacey have had their confidence shaken here in mid-season as far as shooting is concerned.

I did read that Stanley wants both Stacey and Asha Jones to REST and work on skills in the off-season. Coco Miller played in a league here in the states and it helped her tremendously, so I don't know if they would maybe try to go that route or not.

Think about it guys. These rookies go from a 5-month college season almost right into the WNBA. That's a long stretch and I can see where it would take a toll. As good as the rookies have been this year, I bet they will be better next year, not only because of the experience factor but the stamina one as well.

As long as they don't have Jackie Stiles' luck...

Hey, the Mystics just pulled one out! Upset the first place New York Liberty (in New York) 65-54.

Stacey still had a miserable game though; 0 for 6, two free throws. (And she was a starter again).

I watched most of that game.....the Liberty weren't exactly having their best game either. Stacey was doing a really good job running the point late in the game and passing the ball off.
