View Full Version : Big XII All-Stars
Since I've heard no mention of it this year, am I correct in assuming there will be no Big XII All-Star Team to tour overseas like in the past few summers? It sure did help Tracy Cook going into her senior year. If there WILL be such a team, has anyone heard any details like who will represent each school, and when and where the team will be playing?

JK.....I think someone mentioned that the women got one summer, the men the next......did the men take a team overseas this summer?

The Big 12 men's all-star basketball team left sometime this week, I believe.

Yeah, this summer the Big 12 is sending a men's all-star team overseas. I assume next summer they will send another women's team.
Here's an article about the team, and Husker Jake Muhlheisen who was chosen to go. http://huskers.com/sports/basketball/m/01-02releases/mbbrelease20020624.htm

JK PLEASE!!!
tracy cook could do nothing after the first two big 12 confernce games. every game after that was non-existant for her. she was just over rated as a player. too weak not a force at all. what ever she did or learned on the euro tour she lost it when she came back on campus.
Skaterboy?! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!
...I never said being on the Big XII All-Star Team turned Cook into a Kodak All-American, or the conference's Player of the Year, or even UT's best player for that matter. What I did say is that it helped her a lot -- and it did. She was a very KEY role player for the Longhorns last season!

IMO, Tracy Cook was the reason that Texas beat the Lady Raiders in Austin last season. She scored most of her 16 points in the first half, hitting almost every shot she took. Tech was fired up and playing extremenly well, but Cook just kept coming up with a big play to answer and keep Texas even. Even though she fouled out and was not as productive in the 2nd half, Coach Sharp certainly had to concentrate some half time adjustments her way.

Tracy certainly had her moments last season. Unfortunately she seemed to wear down as the season went along. I read something in the paper about her having trouble maintaining her weight (and strength) under the rigors of the college basketball season.
