Greetings friends,
I'm heading up to Norman tonight with the Lady Raiders looking forward (even though playing OU in Norman makes my stomach hurt) to seeing Gator and all the rest. If I've never met you, feel free to come down as close as they'll let you to press row and give me a holler Wednesday night. I've had a chance to meet a few posters over the past few seasons and always enjoy getting to put a real face with a fake name.
If you've got any suggestions on where I should eat, hang-out or otherwise fall into tonight, let me know.
Be safe and observe all warning signs.

P.S. The legendary Jim Miller, pride of the Sooner Nation and a man voted most likely to be the tallest in the room, will be working the game with me Wednesday night, so tune in if you can. He actually knows basketball unlike the other guy you'll hear on the broadcast.

Matt missed his chocolate - the threat of black ice kept me home when he was here. I was going to save it for you but .... it somehow disappeared during the evening as the red people kept doing terrible things on the tube. I had to go out and get another batch and can't decide if I should use it as a bribe (incentive?) before the game, or wait until after - HOPING that I don't need another chocolate fix because of gals in red misbehaving in Norman.

Gator - Hyatt has been stealing food and maybe even more importantly "funny lines" from me for years, so it would just be par for the course if you load him up with as much sugar and candy as you can!

It's true!
What with the writers on strike, I have had to turn to Coatney for most of my "good" material. Most folks don't know it, but Matt's an accomplished writer, but he never joined the Union, thus I'm able to draw upon his talent for most of my blog, all of my broadcast and even some of the material I use around the house on my wife.
For fans of Grey's Anatomy, you can also blame Matt's writing for the general downturn the show took last season as he was a script consultant for not only that show, but several episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger--The Musical, which no matter how well written was doomed to failure due to a poor musical score written, inexplicably by Cher and Toby Keith. What a shame.
Now, when you see the picketers outside the gym before games he calls, you'll understand all the hubbub.

"Walker, Texas Ranger--The Musical"

Is that from the people that brought us, "Missing In Action On Ice"?

Ryan,

I just have GA tickets, so won't be anywhere near press row. Hope you have a good trip (minus the outcome :) ).

As for places to go tonight--if you want some pasta, Victoria's pasta shop on Campus Corner is a favorite. It's actually on White near Asp. I ate there last night and got my meal comped for no reason. Always a plus.
The Mont at Boyd and Classen is another favorite and a poplular happy hour hangout, though unfortunately it's a bit too cold to enjoy the patio.
BisonWitches downtown on Main for good soup/sandwiches. It looks like a dump inside, but the food never disappoints.
If you like live music, head to the Deli. Not sure who's playing tonight, but they usually have some good locals. It's a hole in the wall smoky bar, but one of my favorites. :)
Terahumara's on Porter is good Tex-Mex. I know I spelling that wrong. It's north of Main on the west side of the road.

OK, so I'm giving away all my haunts...
