Sting activate rookie guard

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- The Charlotte Sting activated rookie
point guard Sheila Lambert from the injured list Friday.

Lambert was the seventh pick in this year's WNBA draft out of
Baylor, but she has yet to play this season. She broke her right leg
during the WBCA All-Star Challenge at the Final Four in March.

Lambert is expected to back up All-Star Dawn Staley.

The Sting placed center Elana Shakirova on the injured list with a
strained left Achilles' tendon.

Sheila's gonna be a GREAT pro guard!

Not only does she distribute to the inside player about as well as any player I've ever seen, she has a popup jumper from about 12 feet that really can't be stopped.

That and a nickle ought to get you on a few all-star teams.

wow, I thought they might sit her the entire year. This certainly changes the complexion of the Charlotte team who is already being in contention for the play-offs....with this move, I would say guarantees a playoff spot.
