Ohio State 43 Illinois 42 These two must have put on a shooting show that would have done a bunch of seventh graders proud. Illinois led by 7 with just under 5 minutes to go then the Buckeyes got a layup from Jantel Lavender and a 3 from Marscilla Packer to cut the lead to 42-40. Then with 14 seconds left, Maria Moeller, a reserve sophomore guard, hit a 3 on her only shot of the game to give Ohio State the win.

Arkansas 63 Alabama 49 The Lady Razorbacks won their first game since losing Lauren Ervin to an ACL injury. Four players were in double figures, led by Sarah Pfeifer with 17, her highest total of the year. Arkansas led 28-25 at the half and a 10-2 run at the start of the second half made it relatively easy from there out. Their largest lead was 19.

The rest of the Big 11 schedule looked about like the Big 12 has been recently. Indiana over Minnesota 80-77 in 2 OT, Michigan over Wisconsin 79-73 in just one OT and Michigan State beat Northwestern 72-64.

Dale8r in your opinion is Coach Smith on the hotseat? I think she is.

I'd have to be honest, and say I really don't know. Outside of Arkansas and the obvious three or so other teams, I don't pay all that much attention to the SEC. This WAS the biggest Arkansas win at Alabama and only their fourth in 16 tries. Considering how really shorthanded the Lady'Backs are, that can't be good news in Tuscaloosa.

Looking at the lightweight schedule that they have played and only being 7-8 going into SEC play, that can't be good news either. I just looked, their losses have been to Tulane, Samford, Arkansas State, Eastern Michigan, Belmont, Louisiana Tech, Chattanooga, East Tennessee State, Florida and now Arkansas. Even their wins have not been against exactly a who's who in Women's Basketball, Washington State, Tennessee Tech, St. Mary's, Alabama A&M, Hampton, Jacksonville State, SE Louisiana, and South Carolina.

So yeah, I think you are probably right, those are not SEC type results.

I was just going to ask what's happened to 'Bama. Dale8R, South Carolina is a decent team, so IMO, that looks to be their best win.

Alabama went 0 for SEC last year
they have a SEC win this year so that's better for them
when coach Smith took the job she had alot of work to do
the coach before her left the program with nothing much
so it takes a while to build it back up, probally another year or two from having a decent team. I don't know if they
will be able to compete with Tennessee, LSU , Georgia and Vanderbilt

tough job but look at Auburn they got alot better. so it may be possible
in Alabama.
