Hello everyone.
This past week I had the pleasure of finally meeting Chipper face-to-face. Contrary to the reports circulating, he is not the devil. lol I was in New England on vacation and met Chipper at his place of employment (some sports station in Bristol, CT, the name escapes me).
He gave me a great tour (got my pic taken at the Sportscenter desk) and we talked a lot of college basketball! He truly is one of the most knowledgeable fans out there and it was nice to know that he gives Robin, Vera and Nell plenty of story ideas and his "humble" opinions on how a certain network should be covering ALL women's basketball (not just a certain team who shall remain nameless).
Concerning my "leave of absence" from hoopscoop, I'm taking some much needed time off and will be back in the fall. I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts and am encouraged by the more civil tone of the board. But for now, I'm enjoying my summer vacation and catching as much baseball as I can.
Chipper, thanks again for the great time. Next time you are in Ames dinner at Hickory Park is on me. :-)
